There's a reason why PUBG ( PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds) is so popular right now. It beat Dota 2 to it. I never thought that day would come. And I myself being a Dota 2 player am in shock...
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is a first/third person competitive shooter. It's set in an open world environment where the player is pitted against other players. Like most games of the similar genre, PUBG is best played with your friends (Squad, Teammates). Excitement and a rush of adrenaline is the name of the game. If you are looking for a competitive game with a huge potential for E-Sports this may be your best bet.
PUBG's fast paced action is one of its best strengths. Unlike most in the similar genre, PUBG is much more likable to the gamer with a short attention span. I do though prefer much slower paced games such as DayZ because the build up and pay offs are much more rewarding, and punishing.
To me PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is just a more casual game to play compared to games like DayZ which takes up more investment of your playtime. I do however enjoy both games and believe both should be in your library of games. PUBG is exploding right now. I don't know how long it is going to last but so far it looks like PUBG has dominated the video game spotlight. All my friends are playing it now.
Now before you go ahead jumping into playing this game, here's some word of advice. Get some friends to play with you. I know.. I know.. You may be one of those loner types who like playing solo, but trust me on this one. You are going to get bored really quickly if you just play on your own. Besides, sometimes you can't make it on your own. Just like in the real world you need your squad watching your back like fam.
So get your bros and gals and hit PUBG on the ground running. Unlike Dota 2 or other multiplayer oriented games you won't be as mad at your teammates for dying on you. Like I said this game is not so punishing. So keep pressing that play button till you get your well deserved chicken dinner! And if you're feeling sore, hey, why not cook some real chicken dinner tonight. Atleast, that's what I did once.
Now I'm not saying that PUBG won't frustrate you because it will. Especially when you take 2nd or 3rd place. When you are so close to winning but you don't. Yeah it's like not being able to finish, in the video game context [ of course ;-) - wink wink].
Gameplay is smooth. Picking up items in the game is very responsive. You won't be having much problem in PUBG when it comes to moving around. You can find vehicles to drive around in, especially so, it becomes necessary when the blue circle becomes smaller and thus the play area is minimized. The game contains a fair amount of weapons. There is not too many weapons in the game and on a side note they do not use the actual name of their real life counter parts, which I highly dislike. Customization is fairly minimal as well, which is totally fine. I don't want this to become CSGO. There are cool outfits and clothing parts you could find during the game which you can put on and look badass in or just look like a douche. Or you can play around naked if that's your thing. The map is nice. It's clean and open spaced. There are a couple hills, several towns, and a lot of fields. The building designs are good. Usually you won't lag as much in towns and cities compared to other games. I'm looking at you DayZ.
Graphically the game looks okay. It's not super great but it's good. I don't think graphics will be something you'll pay attention to when you start getting shot at. Settings are basic and can be changed very easily during gameplay. In terms of optimization I guess the game is alright but it needs a few improvements. Now what I really want is new maps and environments to play in and possibly new game modes to try on.
This game is fun to play especially with your friends. So grab a copy for you and your squad and get looting!
