Quick question: If I have Mount and Blade warband in Steam and a friend gets it from GoG will we be able to play together?

I'd say yes! Did some research for you, and it seems that games that don't require the Galaxy Client for Online Multiplayer (like Divinity & Mount & Blade: Warband), should work fine crossplatform while using direct IP. Then River City Ransom: Underground would be an example that won't work crossplatform: The GOG Galaxy Client is required to access Online Multiplayer. Local Multiplayer between Windows, macOS, and Linux is supported. Multiplayer available only between GOG.com users.

I hope your friend isn't going to pay the full price over at GOG right now, when the game only costs €4,99 on Steam :P

Np! I'm not completely sure either (you never know with all the info on GOG, Steam etc….referring to (full) controller support for ex….), but I found a couple of 'info matches' ;-)

Great deal ^^
