(Hardware/Console) My PS5 predictions
Written by: NeoGamerX - 06:52 Apr-13-2018

Here are my predictions for the PS5:

  • CPU will have four cores and 8 threads, likely to be around as powerful as the Ryzen 2600. The actual CPU, of course, will be custom-made for the console.

  • It will have 16GB DDR4 3200 RAM, 4GB will be reserved for system services so only 12GB will be usable for gaming.

  • The GPU will be the equivalent of a 1080 Ti, having at minimum 10 Tflops of power, possibly slightly underclocked and the chip will be custom-made for the console. This GPU will easily be mid-range by the time the console releases.

  • It will come with no more than 2TB of space for the most basic model. The drive will be an HDD. Premium versions of the console will have up to 6TB.

  • The controller will likely have a minor redesign.

  • The price of the base system is $500. The successor of the Xbox One will likely cost $600.

  • The system will not be mentioned at E3 2018 but will be at E3 2019. It will release in the fall of 2019 or 2020.

  • There will be an even bigger focus on VR and the headset will be included in the base package along with a demo title.

  • Skyrim VR and Horizon Zero Dawn 2 will be PS5 launch titles.

If I were to guess:
CPU -> I agree 4 core/8 thread Zen2/Zen2+ customized for them(possibly Zen3 depending on release).
RAM -> 12-16GB GDDR5/GDDR6(depending on release period) with 2GB for the OS services(the OS is simple, no realistic need for more) and 10-14 for CPU and GPU.
The GPU will most likely be slightly above the gtx 1080 performance, somewhere in between gtx 1080 and gtx 1080ti if released in 2019, or about gtx 1080ti or a bit higher if released 2020, for 2021 and onward can't predict.
The base model will be 1TB.

This, in 2019-2020 should allow for it to cost 400$ and come with a controller and an AAA game.

They really should try to stick to that 400$ price tag, it has been proven time and time again that the 300-400$ range is the most popular and people have waited until consoles reach that price range to buy them.

I admit that my price prediction may be off somewhat but I feel certain that it is at least 80% accurate ($100 give or take). As for the rest of my predictions and watching market trends and knowing Sony, I feel my predictions will likely be close if not spot on.
