Looks like Ubisioft wasn't joking when they said they were considering making movies out of their top franchises. With rumors of Sony and Ubisoft closing in on a deal, there is now confirmation that there is in fact an Assassin's Creed movie in the pipeline.

That's just one part of the story, it seems Ubisoft wants to have total creative control over the ambitious project and so will be producing the AC movie themselves. Who will take the role of the legendary hooded hero....

Michael Fassbender. The actor played pivotal roles in "X-Men: First Class" and recently released "Prometheus". Some of you may have seen him in the movie "300".  Commercially acclaimed or not, he was showered with critical prowess for his roles. If there was one actor who could play the role of a perfect assassin, its Fassbender.

Jean-Julian Baronnet, CEO of Paris-based Ubisoft Motion Pictures was quoted saying,"Michael Fassbender is an extremely smart, talented, versatile and committed actor." They have the mind set on casting Michael and no other. We're not complaining! 

Unfortunately, we have no information on which setting this movie would take place in and which of the three iconic heroes will Michael enact. Nor do we have any clue of it's release date. But you can be sure to know of it here when Ubisoft releases more information.

Ubisoft have in fact done an adaptation of it's "Prince of Persia: Sands of Time" with Disney before; which turned out to be a bomb. Lets hope this comes out with an interesting story, background, and most importantly, nail in the environment.

If you thought Ubisoft only plans to launch Assassin's Creed into movie-land, you were wrong. Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft made his intentions clear of launching it's other popular franchises, Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon series as well.

Will you pay to watch Assassin's Creed or suffice with playing it? Or do both? We at GD would surely check this movie out, for better or worse.
