I know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?
The .44 magnum is the most powerful handgun in Battlefield 3 but with that power comes great time and practice to handle it. It's maximum damage is 60 and the minimum damage is 30; the damage will start to drop off at 12 but if your target is within 25ft it will be a one shot kill to the head. The Magnum drop off is at 50ft with 30 damage so how ever far your target is past 50ft you'll still do 30 damage.
There's a few drew backs for this gun; the rate of fire is 180RPM but it is a revolver so you can't expect a high fire rate. It's got a huge kick to it but if you can control recoil well, you will be able to use this gun the way it should be and get some awesome kills with it. Another dead side to it is it's got the longest reload time of 4 seconds.
It's also got a nice muzzle velocity of 460m/s with a max range of 690m; it does 15% suppression which is tied with the MP419, The gun can fire a round in 0.33 of a second.
How the gun should be fired and used.
As it's got a high recoil it's not really recommend to ADS (aim down sights) during close combat or even when a target is within 12 ft. "Scenario playing with some GDers on Strike at Karkand" Team mate and I are running down the road we are about to go down a set of stairs; enemy support runs up the stairs we are heading for, we all see each other. He knows he's out numbered but he's got the biggest gun, I fire my M16 get a couple of hit makers, he runs round the side of the building my team mate goes after him so do I. The enemy takes him out the second he pokes his head round the corner. Damn M16 out of ammo, good thing I have my Magnum and I feel confidant I can use it (on battlelog it's 5th place with how many kills I've gotten with the weapons)I've got my Magnum by my hip and pointing at where I hope his head will be, I side step round the corner I see him, he's standing *BANG* head shot he's down. hip firing this gun is a very good thing as you don't have to deal with the high recoil getting in your view for a second so you can keep firing and get the kills you want with this gun.
When to use this gun.
The Magnum is a very handy gun in all situations but its if you ADS or hip fire it will chose the out come of the fight most of the time; ADS should only be used if the target is far away or if he doesn't see you, hip firing should only be used for up close so you don't have to put up with the recoil of the gun. You can use this gun with any class and on any map.
If you don't feel sure about to use this gun, just jump in there and use it it will give you some pretty good kills once you get used to it, I feel in love with this gun straight away once I got used to it. Be prepared for some annoying moments with this gun weather you get killed with but remember you may have killed someone the exact same way, I know I have.
The only differnce to this Magnum and the scoped is that the scoped Magnum has an acog on it so it will be better at a range of 100m.
