Hello my fellow GD'ers, first time I'm helding a event, so I hope I'll be a good host. :)
So, at other day while I was browsing through the Internet I've discovered this amazing Source mod. It's named, 'CSPromod'. I've played few matches with other players, servers seems to be becoming empty and emptier day by day, probably because of the new release of Counter Strike: Global Offensive? Maybe...
CSPromod feature many cool features from Counter Strike 1.6 and Counter Strike: Source mixed together. And also, it's free, since it's a mod. Why do I want to play this game with you guys? Because, not many of us own high end PCs that is enough to run demanding games, and it's free.
Can I Run This mod?
If you can run any Source games, you can run this, because it's based on the Source engine.
How Can I Join?
It's really easy, first you'll have to download and install Steam, which you can download from here; unless you have it already and then sign up via the client for an account.
After that, you'll need to download and install the CSPromod BETA 1.08 which you can get from heading over here.
Then, if you have your Steam client running already on the background, restart it, and CSPromod BETA 1.08 should appear on your left game list. After you clicking it, it might ask you to Source SDK Base 2007, let it download and you are ready to go.
Also, you might want to change your name, which can be done by via visiting the settings and multiplayer tab in-game. Your GD username might look really good in there. ;) Also, use [GD] before your username so we can recognize that you're from GD, easily. ;)
Currently, I'm not going to rent a server. I'll posting the empty server address at the day, few hours before event begins right here and most of the servers only going to be able to handle about 32 players, so if you won't be able to get in to this event, I'm going to create another event depending on how everyone enjoys it.
Event will be held at 23rd of September 2012, 18:00 GMT, in GD time and till about 20:00 which will be two hours. I think it will be enough for us to have fun. :)
It would be fun to play some competitive gaming with many in GD. Don't forget to tick the box on the right to let me know that you're coming. Any questions are welcome, post 'em below!
Hope to see you guys in there, when the time comes...
