A few questions before buying

Postby IotaGamer » Sat May 26, 2012 11:09 am

Before buying a laptop, I wanted to know a few things. Basically, I need a good laptop which is able to play most latest games(as of 2011-12) with medium-high settings. I have narrowed my choices down to a few laptops. Can you please tell me which is the best one for the above requirements?

Dell Inspiron 15R
Processor - 2nd Generation Core i5
Chipset - Mobile Intel HM67 Express
Clock Speed - 3.10 GHz
Cache - 3 MB
System Memory - 8 GB DDR3
Graphic Processor - NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M 1GB DDR3

Another laptop is Sony VAIO E Series VPCEH38FN which has all the specs same as Dell Inspiron 15R except Sony has a graphic processor - NVIDIA GeForce 410M GPU 1GB DDR3.

And if you can recommend any other laptop, that would be great. Thanks for reading.

Neither of those those GPUs are powerful enough to run newer games on high. Look for a 640M or maybe a radeon 7690M

How about on medium settings? Will I have any trouble?

1366 x 768. So, should I go for it?

Its a better card than the other two for sure. If it fits in your budget you can get.

Yes, it does fit my budget. I've run 'Can I run it?' on a few games I've wanted to play. And it seems like most of the game can be played on High settings. So its a buy, I guess. Thanks for your help.

I agree with Yeno. Radeon HD 6770M is a good option for medium-high settings on today's demanding games!
