What are "GD Adjusted Requirements"?

Postby gregsuarez » Mon May 07, 2012 1:04 am

I'm a new Premium member at GD, and I am loving the site.

I'm sorry if this topic has been hammered to death on the forums, but I couldn't find a good answer doing searches. What exactly are "GD Adjusted Requirements?" I understand that "recommended" requirements from publishers are generally pumped up to encourage hardware sales. Are the GD Adjusted Requirements a more realistic measure of running the game at high settings, or is it sort of a benchmark bewteen required and recommended... a "medium" setting, if you will?

Welcome to the site, we are glad you are enjoying it!

The GD Adjusted requirements are the system requirements we have decided based on user data about what we think is the requirements for users to properly enjoy the game. This is why it is important for our user to input as much accurate data as they can. Some games it will be enough to play on high and others medium. Basically if you meet the GD Adjusted requirements we feel that you we be able to enjoy the game. Since each game varies, if you are the type that needs to play every game on high it is best to ask in the forums or the game discussion area others who have played the game before to see if your if will handle high settings. Hope that answered your question!

Thanks for the reply. That clears things up a bit more. Just to make sure I understand: the GD Adjusted Requirements are basically a way to measure how well your individual system can play a game at a respectable (but not necessarily maxed-out) graphical level, without giving up too many of the visual bells and whistles to still feel like you're sufficiently "emerged" within a game. And, at the same time, the game will still look better than it would on the Xbox 360 and/or PS3 (couldn't help myself there ;) ).
