New Build for gtav,ac3,etc.

Postby Grpc61496 » Fri May 18, 2012 9:59 am

Hello I am planning to upgrade my old computer. This is my first build and I am a noob when it comes to choosing parts. I want to play games like ac3, gta v, bf3, mp3, and skyrim atleast 30fps. I want it to last at least 2-3 years. This is what I may be getting:

Intel Core i5 3450 - P9220/$214
Seasonic S12II Bronze 660w- P3660/$85
G. Skill 8gb 2x4 1600 - P2700 /$63
WD 500gb Blue - P3600/ $84

Undecided Parts:
GPU - if the 650 ti/ 660 come out I will be getting it.
Case - budget: below P2500/$58
Mobo - budget: below P6000/$140

If you want to change something go ahead

Note: I used $43 for conversion

1. Philippines

2. I will be buying at our local store near us.
Website: pcx.com.ph
They have a pricelist(SRP): https://www.yousendit.com/dl?phi_action ... SUR2WnRVag
They usually update it everyday. I will only choose the products on that pricelist because I wont buy online.

3. I will be buying this rig at the end of the year.

4. I will be using this build for gaming and for watching movies.

5. My prefered budget is $750-800/ around P32,000 - 34,000
The lower the better :D

6. I prefer: Intel ivy bridge and nvidia 600 series

7. Things that I don't need is the monitor, mouse, keyboard, speaker, optical drive, and ssd.

8. I will not overclock or sli

9. Right now I have a resolution of 1360x790 but I will upgrade to 1900..... In the future.

Thanks!

i see youre new here so welcome :D
regarding your hardware decision, choosing parts for a computer your buying 6 months from now is hard, new stuff coming out prices change and drivers change. but you got the right idea.
the PSU is great but tad expensive, something like a 500W will suffice.
the cpu is a fantastic choice.strong, cheap and very cool.
ram and HDD are great choice too so there you are covered.

as of the parts you havent chose :
Mobo- 3 boards came into my mind :
H77-http://pcx.com.ph/components/motherboards-1/asrock-h77m-vsl-usb3.html
h67-http://pcx.com.ph/components/motherboards-1/asus-p8h67-m-le-h67-v-s-gl.html
or the more expensive choice:
z68-http://pcx.com.ph/components/motherboards-1/asrock-z68-pro3-m-z68-vsl-virtu-isrt.html
Case- case is a matter of what you like and what you are looking for. the ones i gave you are priced very well and offer great quality :
more silet-http://pcx.com.ph/peripherals/chassis/fractal-core-1000.html
better airflow-http://pcx.com.ph/peripherals/chassis/silverstone-precision-3.html
the second is more expensive so i would go for the first 1 but they are both fairly cheap so it isnt a big diffrence.
gpu-only 1 choice poped out:
HD 7850-http://pcx.com.ph/components/graphic-cards-1/powercolor-hd7850-2gb-ddr5-256bit.html gtx 670&680 both offer low memory and small bandwidth, thinking like that means the 660/650TI will offer 1 gig memory and 192 BIT memory bus and in the resolution the screen you are planning to buy that bandwidth will be choking your card. and the 7850 with 2 gigs and 256 memory bus will handle just fine.

@SauceBoss
Thanks for the suggestion. I think I will be getting the following:
Case: I think I will go with the Silverstone Precision 3
Mobo: Asrock H77M
GPU: Power Color 7850(still unsure if I will be getting this one)
PSU: changed it to seasonic s12ii 520 instead of the 620
But anyways thank you for your help! :D

Now I only need to wait for some price to go down or modify some of it to fit the 750-800 price range.

---EDIT---
Any chance of changing the other parts to a more cheaper one?

well you said your screen is currently an HD screen(1366x790 , 16:10 ratio) and that means it isnt that big so you could go for an HD 6850 which is much cheaper and in your res can hold high details on constant 60 fps without even trying. http://pcx.com.ph/components/graphic-cards-1/powercolor-hd6850-1gb-ddr5.html
also you can go for an old sandy bridge cpu and then get a cheap h61 board. you are not using SSD so there arent many benefits for getting a good board.

Ok so I will just buy the rest friday instead of october. I will not buy the gpu because my brother bought a gtx 680 last night. So this is what I'll buy:

I5 3450 - P8700/$202
Asrock h77m - P4400/$102
Seasonic s12ii 620w - P3450/$80
WD 500 gb blue - P3400/$79
Silverstone Precision 3 case - P2080/$48
G. Skill rip jaws 8gb 1600 - P2550/$59

Total: P24580/$570

Ok I have a question: Is my psu enough for the 680?

Thanks!

You are putting a 670 or a 680 with a 1366x790 screen? That card is way to over powered for that! Time for an upgrade!
