Problems with my RAM i guess.

Postby Despot7 » Mon Sep 19, 2011 10:08 pm

My PC Spec are:

Mobo: Gigabyte(dont know version) it can support DDR2 800MHz of ram memory and 2 slots for it
CPU: Pentium Intel(R) Celeron(R) 2.66GHz
GPU: i haved Nvidia Gforce 8500GT on 256ram integrated so i wanted to change it on AMD Radeon 6790 256bit 1GB GDDR5
PSU:450w i will change it when i buy my new pc
HDD:70GB i will soon change it.
RAM: This is a problem cuz my Mobo only support 800Mhz on ram memory and now i have 1GB 1333MHz and i think there is a big problem. I bearly run games i cant play minecraft :( lagg like HELL so and CSS, Crysis and others. So because i wanted to buy new PC i wanted to change RAM on this old PC to 1GB ram on 800Mhz then on new pc i will buy more 8GB. So i wanted my Old PC look like this:

Mobo: Gigabyte(dont know version) it can support DDR2 800MHz of ram memory and 2 slots for it
CPU: Pentium Intel(R) Celeron(R) 2.66GHz
GPU: AMD Radeon 6790 256bit 1GB GDDR5
RAM: 1GB on 800MHz cause my Mobo can support only 800Mhz
HDD: 70GB soon buy new :D
PSU: 450W
I think 450W will be enought for this GPU and CPU i guess. So please answer if they would be Enought

My new PC Spec will be:

Mobo: will change it in good AMD mobo with 4 slots of RAM :)
CPU: will change it also in AMD Phenom II x4 955 black edition on 3.20GHz :)
GPU: AMD Radeon 6790 256bit 1GB GDDR5
RAM: i will change it from my old to 4GB on 1600MHz Patriot
HDD: 250GB
PSU: also change in 600W

Goal: Whant to change RAM and GPU for my Old PC to 1GB(800MHz) and AMD Radeon 6790 256bit 1GB GDDR5 So in new pc im going to change Mobo,CPU,RAM,HDD and PSU but not a GPU. So Thank u all.
Please feel free to say if is this good idea or not. :D

It is not a good idea ;)
Simply your CPU (celeron) cant handle better GPU than you have now, so you can buy the best GPU all around the world and you still will not be able to play new games :!: :!:
And I would not put new parts into that old s*it, because you could damage something - for example voltage cascade etc.
Much better option is to sell this crap and buy whole new PC, I know that maybe you cant have that amount of money, but it is the best choice.
RAM is not your problem at all.

those games wont run good because your CPU and RAM is old . and the RAM isnt doing any problem if a mobo only supports up to 800 MHz and you use a 1333 MHz/1066 MHz the MoBo will simply use only 800 MHZ of that card.
