Logitech Gamepad F310, I bought the wrong controller?

Postby bzduzit » Tue Nov 08, 2011 7:04 am

I just purchased a Logitech Gamepad F-310 controller from best buy for 20 bucks. It's really all I can afford, and considering it looks like an xbox 360 controller, I figured I'd be fine. I am just now getting into gaming ( on pc ) considering I finally bought a computer with a graphics card in which good games can be played on. Now I realized and read from other forums the controller I got is garbage. Also "told" so I don't know if it's true ( why I'm asking ) that it isn't compatible with a lot of games. I have been playing old school nes games ( I dl an emulator and roms ) I'd like to start downloading, and purchasing good games with great graphics. Is their anyway or anyone that can tell me please what is compatible with a logitech f-310. I really appreciate it. I have to deal with or make work what I have, as I probably have less then 40 bucks in my pocket for the rest of the week. Any help would again be much appreciated.
1. What games are compatible with the controller.
2. Where can I check if my processor/graphics card is compatible.
Thanks so much for reading. :D

EDIT: I just read under rules somewhere I have to be a premium member to find out what games are compatible with my shit. So if you could help out with my controller much appreciated.

I bought the logitech f510...it is a f310 with vibrate....it is the best controller I ever had. Maybe in older games you have problems but newer games runs like a dream with it. Make sure you put it on d input for older games and x input for newer games. See if that helps.

No prob. I only play games like nfs, fifa and dirt with it and it works. Some games you might need to configure the gamepad yourself but usually it is not necessary. Try out some games and please give feedback on the issue.

I'm back in town and again thanks. I'm going to check out fifa as well as any other games I can configure. What about shooting games eg call of duty. I've read a lot of people prefer the mouse and keyboard, what do you suggest. Also talk is cheap, but I am going to go premium.

Edit: figured it out. :!: Finally, just got finished playing some really good games. I was at a website called majorgeeks dot com or something or other, and saw an application that can change your controller into your mouse settings. I went to download dot com and found a free application called Pinnacle game profile-er.

description
Pinnacle Game Profiler is a program that allows you to emulate your keyboard and mouse with your video game controller, and otherwise customize the controller's behavior. Many PC games do not directly support game controllers, but with Pinnacle Game Profiler you can use almost any controller to play almost any game! Games that normally require an awkward keyboard/mouse control system can now be played with your favorite gamepad! Here are some of the features that make Pinnacle the very best game profiler software available... Works with any controller! (Xbox 360, PlayStation, Wiimote, PC gamepads, etc). Full emulation of keyboard/mouse (even use your gamepad to control Windows). Game profiles can be auto-applied when Pinnacle detects you've started a game. Built-in PinnacleUpdate feature keeps your software and game profiles up-to-date. Create your own custom game commands, keyboard hotkeys, and automated macros. Even force feedback commands can be assigned directly to your game controller. On-screen help guides you through the simple process of creating your profiles. Setup a joystick to run or walk depending on how far forward you tilt the joystick. Assign a 'shift button' to double the commands you can assign to a controller. Create toggle commands and cycling commands that rotate each time you fire them. Two seperate triggering events (pressed & released) gives you complete control. Design an ImageGuide for your controller to guide you while you assign commands. Direction pad support features 3 styles: standard 4-Way, simple 4-Way, and 8-Way. Invert the movement axis of any analog joystick.

( from download com )
Reaper, thanks again!

I suggest mouse and keyboard for shooters because reaction time is just so much quicker. Some people actually prefer a controller but I am not one of them.

Just agree the i think not to prefer controller always!
Keyboard , mouse are even better and so speedy than all.
