Need help about getting a new GFX card.

Postby kingchaos913 » Thu Jun 21, 2012 1:26 am

Hello, I need help about getting a new GFX card for my rig, I've never switched out a GFX card for a newer one, but I know most of about putting a new one in. So I've decided to get a new card when I get the money. However, my desktop is limited to a certain amount of space. This is the desktop that I bought.

I have had it since last September, everything is good about it except the GFX card and the power supply which is 300W. Here are the more detailed specs of my rig.

So I am looking for a low cost, smaller, GFX card that can play High quality games such as Crysis 2 and the Witcher 2 at high or the highest settings, if anyone could recommend a GFX card, it would be appreciated, but you have to keep in mind that I also need a new power supply, so if someone could recommend one that is at a lower cost but carries a high wattage and takes up a small amount of room space.

I do not know everything when it comes to newer graphics cards, but everything I have learned up until now I have on my own, so I would appreciate if anyone could help me and answer my problems respectfully. If you need more details on anything, please let me know.

P.S I usually just use game debate to see what games I can run on my desktop.

hi,
you have i7 2600 with HD6570(OEM) version which is causing a huge bottleneck in your rig i would recommend you upgrade to a HD7850 2GB GDDR5 as your cpu is enough for that and your rig work for 5-8years for gaming on high and make sure the power supply should be of 500watts and gives 42A on the +12Vrail....

What is your budget? Because you will likely have to change your PSU. Also you should measure the area where the graphics card will go so we can help you out better.

A 7850 is a good card but it will not play the newest games at high settings for 8 years. That is insane. No card will.

My power supply is 6 1/4 length x 6 1/8 width, the maximum I could see is going is 6 5/8 length x 6 7/8 width. And my graphics card is 6 5/8 length x 4 7/8 width. The area is 7 3/8 length x 5 3/4 width. As for a budget, my father is going to pay for it, so put up multiple prices low and high, if you could, for both the power supply and graphics cards.
