Devil my cry 4 problem>>> laggy please help

my system can play DMC4 and it is running smoothly but here's my problem..... after a few minutes playing,,, it becomes laggyy ang slow.... after a few minutes it runs again smoothly then in a few minutes laggy ang slow again...wondering why...? i want to play it normally without going laggy and slow so i try to low the pc settings of the game...but nothings happens...the game still slow after in a few minutes,,,, i also try to silent mode my antivirus but it doesnt affect the performance of being laggy and slow of the game... i also check that my rig is compatible in this game... here's my rig "intel core 2 duo",,, "Navidia Geforce T6600 120m Cuda 512" 4gb ram please help me how to fix this.... thanks

It seems like overheating and GPU is underclocking itself automatically - is it a laptop right?

Guys i had a problem just like this, when i played Counter strike, i get max 60 fps, and after a fiew moments, it goes down below 30 fps, and causes lags and after 4 seconds, it runs ok and then never lags again

I have some problems with my GPU, i think the overheating causes the damage, it gets 65C heating, but no worries after a few seconds it smooths up and no more lag

sir devilek your right it is a laptop.... at start of the game i get max 60 fps after a few minutes it goes down at 10fps.... but after few moments it smooth again then come back to lag.... i want to play it normally but i dont know what to do.. im a newbie about computer problems... if the problems is overheating i should buy a cooling fan hehehe .... and sir devilek you said that GPU is underclocking itself automatically??? what does it means? (sorry for my noob question coz i have no idea what is that) and if it is possibble to improve GPU performance ? and how...? thanks again....

For example your default clock speed is 600mhz (on graphics chip) and when temperature is very high, clock is going down for example to 150mhz (it is heating less) and that is the moment when you are getting low fps... It cant be tweaked - maybe you can set clock speed to 400mhz (from 600) and your chip shouldnt be so hot during your play...but it is not for 100% it can be other hundred things - but this seems to me very possible

Yeah, he's right, unfortunately laptop cards often don't have Fans so they heat up easily, if you want to cool down the laptop, put it on a glass cover or just glass, the glass consumes the heat produced from the laptop processor and GPU, this will cool it down mostly so don't expect to be chilly , this might help with cooling

thanks for answering my question.... now i have an idea why it's lag after a few moment and both of you are right overheating is the main problem,,, i noticed it too co'z my laptop easily over heat even if i put my palm in the keyboard i feel the heat.... and i try to reboot my laptop but i can't....? (again i have no idea why..?) when i try to reboot it.... Restart and when the name or manufacture appears press F1(also try F2 nothings happen) after that i don't see Reboot.... i only see "choose operating system" "Tools but need to press F8 but there is no reboot" and "diagnostic report",,,,,, if i choose one of them after a few second my laptop turns off.... someone's telling me that i need a CD to reboot my laptop.... (sadly to say that i don't have that CD... for a reason that my sister give this laptop to me coz she don't use it anymore and i ask her about the CD she said that she don't remember it) so how can i reboot my laptop..? i want to reboot it so that i can change the clock speed.... and as far as i know over clocking from the bios it will shorten the life of the CPU and can cause instability of OS... that's why i want to change or to lower my ratio and clock speed... im afraid that someday my laptop is unstable and get crash.... i really need to change it but i cant reboot...? i want to change it to play a game smooth... please help me.... thank you very much

Enter Safe mode is not possible? Also you can remove the dust from your laptop - I think that is the main reason why it is overheating You have to disassemble it
