Guys,

Panther Point Z77 chipset for Ivy Bridge is reported to feature PCIe 3.0 x16 slots on its mainboard.

Questions: Do you think Nvidia's upcoming Kepler 28mm GPUs (said to be 4 times as powerful per watt) will saturate the current PCIe 2 x16 slot's bandwidth, thus requiring PCIe 3 slots? Or perhaps we must wait till Nvidia Maxwell is released before PCIe 2 bandwidth is exceeded?

Welcoming all speculations, thanks! ;)

For resolutions to max. 1440*900 or 1280*1024 is 512MB enough, but if you have a LCD with resolution higher than that (1680*1050 or 1920*1080(HD) or higher) choose 1GB card ;)

Well I'm getting GTX 560. Its under 300$ and its just awesome, but since you got AMD processor I would recommend you to buy something like ATI Radeon 6950, but then you will need a better processor at least X4. ;)

Hi there,

I'm looking at playing Skyrim here in a months time and have come to realize that my graphics card is crap. I'll list out my specs so that someone will be able to recommend me a new one. I would prefer to stick with and Nvidia card at this point. If any other specs should be improved upon for this game then please let me know.

Windows 7 64 bit
Intect Core i7 870 @ 2.93 GHz
4 GB Ram
Nvidia GT 320
Well over 15GB of HDD space
DirectX 9

Thank you for your help!

What is you budget? I suggest 560ti or better or a 6870 or better.
