Slight Problem

Postby Kaeyon » Mon Oct 03, 2011 7:10 pm

My cousin just purchased a new PC (Cyberpower). The system specs are as follows:

AMD Athlon II X2 260 @ 3.20GHz
4GB RAM
Radeon HD 6450 GPU

The main game he's wanting to play at the moment is WoW. Now this sytem is very well over the reccommended requirements for this game. The problem he's facing is on low settings the game is running around 24fps and on high around 13-15fps. I've updated his drivers/etc./etc. Overclocking really hasn't had much impact either. At this point I'm fairly stumped on what the matter is.

Any suggestions?

It should work better than that - what is his resolution? - because radeon HD 6450 is graphics card for office use and not for gaming - that GPU with high resolution can cause these low fps ;)

Yeah it should be running much better than that regardless. I mean before my GTX 460 I was using a GT 220 and it's not a real high end card and it was running Rift at around 20-25fps on high settings, which isn't great but it's playable.

But he said it would jump to 60-62fps then just drop astonishingly. But I was running it on 1080p on my monitor and it wasn't fitting my screen. So the res probably has a lot to do with it then. He's wanting to upgrade the card anyway.

Thanks for the reply
