Cool. I would advise trying to get the amd phenom x6 it is much better than any socket 1156 cpu...including the 1156 i7's.

I sent sauceboss a link to this forum. Hopefully he'll have some great news for you on a nice mobo and cpu. But I think that 1100t is the best option for you budget

Just checked now....http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... pk=fx-6100
The fx6100 is also a good option and it is the same price as the 1100t and it is a lot better!!!! So that one gets my vote now.

Nope. You have an mobo only for intel 1156 processors. :ugeek: You'll walk out of here with a better pc than you were bargaining on!!!! And not even for that much more cash...

I don't think the FX-6100 is much better then the 1100t however for the power draw I would go for it.

nice to see people want me :D makes me all fuzzy on the inside
also ive never seen the fx-6100 in action so i can only judge it by the specifications which are pretty darn good.
14 mb of total cache ,6 cores in the speed of 3.3 ghz with up to 4 ghz on turbo core , unlocked multiplier and being produced in the 32 nm line, all of that makes that cpu sound perfect on paper , so untill ill see some benchmark i can only judge it by the guts.
about the budget . its a pretty nice budget and i believe you can fit a core i5 2300/2400 with a good p67 /z68(future proofing)socket 1155 mobo(you can go with h61 if you want to save cash but i think you should get the p67/z68 so you could buy a core i7 2600k/a sandybridge-e cpu when the i5 2300 isnt enough) and it will be about 270 dollars too:
i5 2300-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115076
/i5 2400(same product ,higher speeds)-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115074
p67 mobo-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128487
z68 mobo-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128520

p.s if you decided to go for a phenom II you should probably get the x6 1090t. the extra money on the 1100t is a waste, they just took the 1090t and increased is multiplier by 0.5 and you can do that on your own pretty easily so paying for a factory to overclock it is just a waste

Since Theyre both around the same price range int he end which do you recomend I go with for the upgrade? which will get me the better performance for battlefield 3? the Phenom II X6 1090T, or the i5 2400?

Sh*t I forgot to look at those i5 prices. It depends on what you want to do. Gaming = i5 2400, video editing and stuff like that = 1090t!(but the 2400 not too far behind in this catergory)

I would go for the i5 2400, because someday when you want you can pop in a i7 2600k....And intel works real well with a nvidia card.

Thanks sauceboss. You are mr. budget round here. You get the best deals for the lowest prices. Felix should make you a sales and financial consultant
