If I may, What are your specs?

Until 2 months ago I had a very similar pc (athlon 64 x2 2.8 ghz with 3 gigs of ram and a x1950[it's like a gt 220]but I replaced it due to a faulty motherboard ),now I have a core i7 with hd 6870 and 8 gigs of ram and I got to say that I was fully satisfied with my old pc and if not for faulty mother board and card not supporting dx10 I would have stayed with it for much longer:)

P.s if your looking for a great budget pc just post a new topic with your budget ,where you live, your current pc( some parts may go well with newer parts so you could save some money ) ,a store close to you ( if your in the US we would probably give you newegg links for the amazing prices and deals there) and if you want a built pc or you want to build it on your own and the guys from the forum will woop you up an amazing budget pc from scraps that will offer you the best perfomance your money can give ya:)

Thank both of you for all the help :) I would love to make a better pc, but I am very poor. Most of the parts I used to build my pc I had given to me. So I don't think I will be upgrading any parts for a long time :/
I was wondering. I don't know if either of you 2 know how or are interested. I was wondering if you'd wanna help me make some mods for games. I am a noob and know nothing, but I have a lot of free time and I am willing to learn. I really wanna make custom maps for call of duty world at war and left 4 dead. I am gonna make another post of asking for modding help :)

You wouldn't happen to have any spare parts laying around from your old pc ,that are better then mine, you'd be willing to sell:) I don't have much money because I am saving up for a pvr and have no job but I would love to upgrade. ok if not. Also I am glad I joined this forum. you all seem like a great community :)

I am gonna sound dumb. I have never bought games from steam. If I do would I have to to go online to play it, or can I for example, bring a computer to my friends, buy it, go home and have no internet connection at all and still play it on my computer? I am a steam noob and slowly leaving the pc noob area :P

i have a few parts lying around here( a cpu and a gpu) and i would gladly give it to a fellow gd member but the price of the delivery in and out of my country is higher then the prices of the parts themselves...

and about mods i know nothing about it but i have 2 friends who did alot of mods for the cracked cod mw2 and they said it isnt that complicated but you need to know basic stuff about computing(Java i think, i used to know it but i forgot everything about that stuff) also cod games arent open codes so moding it is a pain in the ass , try bf2 for better ability because half of the bf2 exprience is all the mods available(project reality and such)

Well I know there is mod kits for CoD WaW zombies, but I haven't downloaded any because my pc is down at the moment:P Are your friends interested in teaching :P lol ok if not
I could maybe pay for shipping for the parts, but would they improve my stuff a good amount. I Just really wanna make my computer good. I am gonna sound dumb. I don't know what a GPU is or the difference between that and a CPU. I know what a CPU is though.

A gpu stands for graphics proccesing unit( sound about right) and its just another word for grahics card, and no, the card is kinda crappy and it overheats kinda badly(x1950 with a faulty fan controller), and my cpu is only a bit bette then yours(athlon 64x2 3.0ghz) so it isnt worth the price for the delievry (with those friggin taxes in my country it will be minimum 50 dollars , yea i know those greedy goon ) and i would ask my friends to help you but they barely know english(one knows french fluently if that helps you in any way)
So sorry for not being able to help in any way

I just wish i could get a job or something but I can not find one no matter how hard I try. Oh if it matters I am 19. California sucks for jobs right now, but dang. i know those taxes are so annying . and i cant even deliver parts from us o something like that because the delievery +the state taxess makes it the same price as in the store and you also dont get any warranty so you get fu*ked on both ends.

and that french guy(its not insulting i call him likethat all the time , he calls me stupid juden {im jewish so again its not racist or anything} so we both laugh on eachother so its comletely cool.}) is kind of a computer genius , but i dont think he has time right now , his 17 and his in the middle of getting his first degree in math and physics so his kinda eitehr studying or playing cod 8(mw3).

but bottom line is that moding games is kinda easy . everything is written infront of ya and you just need to find it ,change it,check it ,and if you did something wrong just replace it with the normal orer.
example of an order : SET_Gravity:30 you change it to 0 and you will be flying, you change it to 60 it wil be imposible to walk , thats all you do in modding another examle SET_health:30 you change it to 20 and its hardcore mode you change it to 40 and your juggernaut(mw2 modding , me and my friend did alot of that) the most simple example SET_FF:off, you change it to on and friendly fire turns on(FF=Friendly Fire )

That's awesome, but how do you pull up coding and how do you make images appear that weren't there. I don't wanna ruin you when questions, when ever your friend gets time :)

Sorry again for taxs. Your my second jewish friend ever :)
