Game of the Year 2011

2011 has come and gone leaving us with some amazing games. While most will agree it was a great year for PC gaming many will disagree with what the single best game for the year was. We want to know what our wonderful members thought was the cream of the crop. Vote for your pick for game of the year below. In my opinion the one game that is worthy (no offence to the others) is Skyrim - people had high expectations for it, and it didn't disappoint most of them as the Internet shows. Free world, fun, addictive etc.
If I had to choose 2nd and 3rd, though, I'd say Portal 2 is almost on par with Skyrim (I know it even without actually playing ) and the third place would go to either Crysis 2, Battlefield 3 (due to it's pre-release popularity) or Deus Ex: HR (my own opinion). Also, I didn't give a place to Minecraft, because actually it has been out for a while now (not just 2011) - a worthy game for the competition though.

First I think "others" should be removed or when the competition ends, the game of the year will be others? It doesn't make much sense.

Now I am in a brain over-load. Should I choose Deus Ex 3 or Skyrim V?

I never played any of the pre-quels so I can't compare them to previous installments.

They are very different games, with stealth kills and RPG elements in common.

I enjoyed Deus Ex 3 a lot...A LOT. However, Skyrim V gives me a huge world to explore and without loading screens - unless of course, you enter a town, etc.

They both have astonishing visuals. I like Deus Ex 3 sci-fi-future themed visuals better but the world of Skyrim V is much detailed and fun to explore.

I am a huge huge RPG fan so my vote goes for the game who has the most sactisfying RPG elements, which is, Skyrim V in my opinion. It has RPG elements that remind me of Final Fantasy and I can do whatever I want there, the way I want it. It's really a masterpiece.

My vote goes to Skyrim. I remember watching the 14 minute demo on youtube then thinking i had to get this game. Then I rang up EB games and pre ordered it 6 months before release date (11.11.11). Then i finally got the game on the 10.11.11. I chucked it in my pc then tried to install it and it said the game is currently unavailable until 11.11.11 which really got me mad. So i read official game guide all night waiting until the morning. So i woke up at 6am chucked in the disc and tried to install it a second time then boom my computer crashes. I took it to the store to get it fixed and he said that they need to order a new one in. Turns out Samsung didnt have the same model in store so they had to build one which apparently will take them 2 weeks. But now that i have my laptop Skyrim is running perfectly and is one of the best games i have ever played.

As I havent played Skyrim yet I vote for Crysis 2. However I bleieve Skyrim is better but I dont have time to play it right now.

As I played only Batman Arkham City, (and a little of Battlefield 3), it's Batman Arkham City for me. I really can't find anything that's wrong with that game.
