New PC Build

Postby zolton33 » Thu Jan 12, 2012 11:18 pm

Currently my pc is :

Monitor is an acer P201w (i think its 20in)

Biostar TForce 6100-939 NVIDIA Socket 939 Micro ATX Motherboard with nvidia 6100 on the motherboard

I'm using a Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4400+

And i have 3 1024 kingston ddr ram installed

And running windows xp home

So i am hoping that my pc will be ok for a while before i rebuild again from scratch but i'm now finding a few games i can not play because of my video card. So was looking for a cheap (under a $100.00 if possible) one to get me by until i have to rebuild. And if you can give me an idea when i need to do a rebuild would be nice. I love playing games mainly into mmorpgs though. I'm not looking to run the best setting obviously. But i am looking to play most games comfortably. Any help would be greatly apreciated. Also i live in the US but no pc stores near me the closest thing is walmart and radioshack.

im suprised you didnt ran into troubles running games like 3 years ago...
upgrading it to anything is kind of foolish because every card would be amazingly bottlenecked by the cpu.
if you want to get an assesment for what you can upgrade to in the future please follow this steps:http://www.game-debate.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1454 nad the guys from the forum will whip you up the pc that will give you the best bang for the buck you could ever ask for:)

I thought i had answered all the questions in my first post but i'll try to clarify,

1. USA

2. No preferences on stores i buy from which ever is the cheapest although i bought my current pc's components from tigerdirect there is no pc store near me unless you count radioshack or walmart so i'll be ordering online

3. Surfing the web and gaming (i play rpgs and mmorpgs mainly though i have played games like grand theft auto as well)

4 My budget is limited so i'll probably be buying components 1 at a time so the cheapest i can upgrade for the better my old pc i built i've used for 6 years without a problem now so if i could repeat that all the better lol components though i'll probably try to keep under 100 bucks if at all possible although i know some things may be more expensive then that.

5. I have no specific component brand preferences although i have come to like and trust my amd processer and i've only ever really used nvidia as a graphics card. My reasons in the past have been because they are generally alot cheaper so i go more by price with performance over brand to be honest although if you could also recomend a good case with good air flow i'd apreciate it. The one i'm using now has 4 fans and the places for hard drives and roms is removable for easy upgrade and instal so i'm looking for another one like it.

6. Decided to do it from scratch buying each component to keep my old one to give to the wife all she does is search the web and watch videos online so it should do her for several years lol

7. I'll put it together and just let it run lol never really tried overclocking my rig although mine came with the utillities to do so

8. 1280 960 is what i currently use but no real preferences
