my new laptop has 6770m 1gb gddr5 and when it is in battery mode according gpu-z the pci express connection turns from pci e 2.0 x8 into pci e 1.1 x8....is that normal??also my motherboard says it supports pci e 2.0 x16 can i make my card work in that speed??and two more things why does pcwizard and dxdiag say 726mb texture memory?and last but no least gpu z says that my max memory clock is 216mhz can it be so low?i am asking some difficult things i know...but i also know that you will know..please reply..thank you.

Unless that happens when you're gaming, you don't need to worry about having the GPU underclock, it's only to save power.

I can't help you on the 8x-16x problem, though i suspect that that's also a power saving measure.

Your memory is lower than advertised because, just like hard drives, it's almost impossible to get the full amount of advertised memory. My 2gb card has 1800 MB of memory.

The clock speed of your card, just like most of the other problems, is because of your laptop attempting to save power, my battery life would be cut in half just by having my card on all the time.

Try running a game (preferably a demanding one) on your computer while it's plugged in, then run all the tests. If the problems aren't solved, then I can't help you.

i have searched around in the net and have answered most of those questions.my memory works at 800mhz and the data rate is 51.2gb/s. the pci link is just the way it is and it goes from 2.0 to 1.1 for battery saving..as for the size memory i really don't have any idea why the texture memory is only 726mb..the games i play are very ok..i just want to ask what is really the difference between pci 2.0 and pci 1.1 in data rate transfer..

PCI 2.0 is twice as fast as PCI 1.1 -- 2.5GHz clock speed for 1.1 and 5GHz for 2.0.

This results in almost twice the data transfer rate for 2.0 vs. 1.1.

I haven't found the exact numbers, but from a performance standpoint, you're looking to lose at most 3% of your performance, probably less.
