Set during the golden age of Samurai warfare, Shogun 2 brings to life the most turbulent period of Japanese history.

Dont worry, BUY it, you can play low at 1280x720 res for 30-40 fps or more. Perhaps medium at 800x600 res for 40-55 fps.

Bring that resolution down to 1366x768 and it'll run fine at high settings. Try Direct X11, it seems to run more smoothly than DX9

Depends what you call playable frames. On balance my rig is similar and I run it at High with a bit of lag on GFX intensive scenes (with Darth Mod). I can live with that but medium would certainly give you smooth FPS.

why does this game mostly runs on 1 core on my pc once units start clashing talking about 900 vs 900 soldiers my pc decides to lag and 1 processor core is used at 100 % the other 3 are between 5 and 15 % of their usage

I'm running the demo of this ok on medium but the campaign map is a bit laggy. Is the full game better optimised, and what settings could I expect to have?

So much hate for integrated graphics! I can actually run this game smoothly at Med-High settings. Don't just blanket assume that integrated graphics are bad. HD 4000 upwards can hold their own and not all of us are rich.

You don't have to be rich. My rig is 630 quid thats in pounds. Same as a iphone 5s with 32gb. I saved a while for this. Run it on low my recommendation.

Got a new laptop (secondhand) and I can now run it on high. My surmise is that the campaign map needs dedicated graphics memory for textures and doesn't use many LODs. This laptop was £300, which was pretty damn good for the performance!

High but you can play on ultra with playable frames as you don't need 60fps for games like this
