Check out this video of myself going hands-on with Grid 2 after far too much Captain Morgans. If nothing else, it’s a testament to why driving a car inebriated is a baaaaaad idea.
This video was shot after an indepth chat with one of the great devs over at Codemasters. We discussed all sorts including how the Grid 2 System Requirements were shaping up for the Grid 2 release next summer...
GRID 2 Minimum System Requirements
OS: Microsoft Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5200+ or Intel Celeron E3400 Dual-Core 2.6Ghz
RAM: 2GB
HDD: 15GB
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 5550 512MB or NVIDIA GeForce GT 230
DX: DirectX 9
GRID 2 Recommended System Requirements
OS: Windows 7
CPU: AMD Phenom 9600B Quad-Core or Intel Core 2 Quad Q6400 2.13GHz
RAM: 4GB
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 4870 or Nvidia GeForce GTX 260
DX: DirectX 11
Bare in mind these are not official GRID 2 requirements and we may change them closeer to the time.
Now check this awesome video ---- Go Team GD!
Don’t drink and drive kiddies!
So as you heard in the video Grid 2 will not have a cockpit view this time around. Apparently 95% of people didnt use this feature and it takes time to develop and extra PC RAM that can be used elsewhere. We are advised that the RAM is going to be used to enhance the lighting and in-game physics via a new Grid 2 lighting engine known as Beast!
Awesome names aside, we then spoke to a fan who said that he was very sad to not have the cockpit view, but despite that actually ever only used that view for "casual" driving. When driving online competitevly the fan said they always used the bonnet view, which is still in the game as is chase cam.
Which view would you use?
