Tribes: Ascend, developed using the Unreal 3 engine, is being positioned as the multi-player successor to the much lauded Tribes 2 and a re-introduction of the franchise to the gaming world.
Hi-Rez Studios acquired Tribes in October, 2010 and revealed plans to develop a massive scale, persistent world shooter called Tribes Universe. Today’s announcement confirms that long-term franchise strategy, but Hi-Rez has chosen to first deliver the single-purchase, digital download Tribes: Ascend this calendar year.

Tribes Ascend System Requirements [pc]

Tribes: Ascend is a free to play, PC exclusive, title by the Hi-Rez Studios Developers. Thats right, they are the guys behind the MMO sci-fi shooter, Global Agenda. Some of you may know that Ascend is actually coming from some serious MMO FPS heritage and has a lot to live up to. The Tribes series has seen some solid critical success in the eyes of the press but it has been 8 years since the last title, Tribes Vengeance, came out to a less than happy hardcore fanbase.

Tribes Ascend looks back past that hiccup and claims to be the successor to the much loved Tribes 2. Well, the wait is nearly over, an April 12th release date, and we have been kindly sent the system requirements by the guys at Hi-Rez. They are pretty hefty requirements but bare in mind that this game is developed on the Unreal 3 Engine, albeit probably a heavily modified version. So lets take a look at the Tribes Ascend System Requirements...

Tribes Ascend Minimum System Requirements

OS: Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista or Windows 7

CPU: Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz or Althon X2 2.7 GHz

RAM: 2GB (XP), 3GB (Vista, Win7)

GPU: ATI or Nvidia graphics card with 512MB video ram or better and Shader Model3.0+ support. (ATI Radeon 3870 or higher, Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT or higher).

AUDIO: DirectX compatible sound card

HDD: 10 GB free hard disk space

You can run it on low settings at lower resolution. ;) Turn off AA and you can get decent fps rate.

You have an OK PC. Your CPU is meh but your GPU is actually pretty good. Id say medium or tweaked high settings could get you 30+ FPS :)
