Back of the Box
After years of intense warfare against Eastern armies, Europe has become the last stand for the battered NATO forces. On the verge of being driven into the sea, NATO command embarks upon a most desperate measure. In the hope of seizing what seems to be a well-guarded military secret, Operation Magnitude is launched. A small group of Special Forces and Researchers are sent to a Mediterranean island deep behind enemy lines. However, the mission is compromised and the task force destroyed, leaving Cpt. Scott Miller washed ashore upon the hostile island. In his effort to carry out the mission, he will face the dangers of modern warfare, an unforgiving environment, and the consequences of his own decisions...

Full system requirements for ArmA III reported on Aug-17-2013

The regular GD visitor will have seen these requirements coming, as Bohemia Interactive, the ARMA 3 devs, have continually kept us updated for the past couple of years on what is to be the expected requirements.

Now that we are close to launch, the official requirements have just been finalized, so lets take a look and see if you can run ARMA 3 system requirements...

Arma III is a tactical shooter, one of the few that try to priorities realism (effectively). With that come huge maps, loads of vehicles, weapons and of course pretty and detailed leaves. There is no denying that Arma III is a good looking game, and with all the events happening it will likely take some horsepower.

In addition Bohemia Interactive previously stated that they will offer the player many graphical and system customization options in ARMA III, when the game releases. For example, screen resolutions can be adjusted as well as countless scenery option tweaks.

Alright, now you know what we are looking at and won't tumble across any surprises, lets see what you need to run this game, the official system requirements.

Arma III Minimum System Requirements

OS: Win Vista SP2 or Win 7 SP1 (Apple OS is not supported)

CPU: Intel Dual-Core 2.4 GHz or AMD Dual-Core Athlon 2.5 GHz

GPU RAM: 512 MB graphics memory

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT or ATI Radeon HD 3830 or Intel HD Graphics 4000

RAM: 2GB of memory

DX: 10 Direct X

HD: 15GB spare hard drive space

HD (BETA): 10 GB spare hard drive space

AUDIO: DX compatible on-board

Arma III Recommended System Requirements

OS: Win Vista SP2 or Win 7 SP1 (Apple OS is not supported)

CPU: Intel Core i5-2300 or AMD Phenom II X4 940

GPU RAM: 1 GB graphics memory

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 or AMD Radeon HD 7750

RAM: 4 GB of memory

DX: 11 Direct X

HD: 25GB spare hard drive space

This title is PC only and clearly an example of a game that utilizes a hefty CPU, although interestingly can be played by a mid-range GPU. This CPU requirement is most likely due to the large ARMA 3 maps, the high number of possible players and their actions, which all need continual processing.

It's predecessor enjoyed a resurgence in popularity due to it's modding capabilities. I'm sure you are all aware of the immensely famous DayZ mod? Good news for the modding-fans as Arma III will continue to support the community-mods.

Arma III is scheduled for release on September 12th, 2013. What do you think of these system-requirements? Sound fair? Let us know how you will run this game in the comments below!

your specs are able to run very high to even ultra , sadly multiplayer depends on servers, servers make caps, cause on Singleplayer I can get 40-80fps and then on multiplayer depending on map or even game mode can cause fps caps, best servers for good fps are with game modes of Wasteland

I admire this game so much!
Before I can get it, I would just like to check my frames per seconds on each setting.
So can someone answer me how much frames per second I would get in minimum, adjusted and recommended settings?
Thanks! :)

Adding on to that previous convo, you'll get 60+ FPS on high-ultra on Single Player, but for multiplayer, depending on the amount of players, you should expect maybe 30-40 on high-ultra. based on personal experience.

due to the low gpu you might have to run some settings on medium but because of good cpu you can try to match settings, by keeping shadows on high and textures, objects, terrain at medium-high (maybe ultra High) also you might need some tweaking done to the config and launch options, but you should be able to run but remember that this game is cpu heavy, to make cpu less heavy you need to change

it will be a mix of texture very high , objects high, shadow high, everything else maxed except AA, but Post AA will due , Turn off Pip unless your gpu can handle low, the game is cpu crazy but if you get the right settings your gpu should be at 100%
