Back of the Box
After years of intense warfare against Eastern armies, Europe has become the last stand for the battered NATO forces. On the verge of being driven into the sea, NATO command embarks upon a most desperate measure. In the hope of seizing what seems to be a well-guarded military secret, Operation Magnitude is launched. Scott Miller washed ashore upon the hostile island. In his effort to carry out the mission, he will face the dangers of modern warfare, an unforgiving environment, and the consequences of his own decisions...

Full system requirements for ArmA III reported on Aug-17-2013

The regular GD visitor will have seen these requirements coming, as Bohemia Interactive, the ARMA 3 devs, have continually kept us updated for the past couple of years on what is to be the expected requirements.

Now that we are close to launch, the official requirements have just been finalized, so lets take a look and see if you can run ARMA 3 system requirements...

Arma III is a tactical shooter, one of the few that try to priorities realism (effectively). With that come huge maps, loads of vehicles, weapons and of course pretty and detailed leaves. There is no denying that Arma III is a good looking game, and with all the events happening it will likely take some horsepower.

In addition Bohemia Interactive previously stated that they will offer the player many graphical and system customization options in ARMA III, when the game releases. For example, screen resolutions can be adjusted as well as countless scenery option tweaks.

Alright, now you know what we are looking at and won't tumble across any surprises, lets see what you need to run this game, the official system requirements.

Arma III Minimum System Requirements

OS: Win Vista SP2 or Win 7 SP1 (Apple OS is not supported)

CPU: Intel Dual-Core 2.4 GHz or AMD Dual-Core Athlon 2.5 GHz

GPU RAM: 512 MB graphics memory

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT or ATI Radeon HD 3830 or Intel HD Graphics 4000

RAM: 2GB of memory

DX: 10 Direct X

HD: 15GB spare hard drive space

HD (BETA): 10 GB spare hard drive space

AUDIO: DX compatible on-board

OTHER: Internet connection plus Steam account for activation

Arma III Recommended System Requirements

OS: Win Vista SP2 or Win 7 SP1 (Apple OS is not supported)

CPU: Intel Core i5-2300 or AMD Phenom II X4 940

GPU RAM: 1 GB graphics memory

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 or AMD Radeon HD 7750

RAM: 4 GB of memory

DX: 11 Direct X

HD: 25GB spare hard drive space

This title is PC only and clearly an example of a game that utilizes a hefty CPU, although interestingly can be played by a mid-range GPU. This CPU requirement is most likely due to the large ARMA 3 maps, the high number of possible players and their actions, which all need continual processing.

It's predecessor enjoyed a resurgence in popularity due to it's modding capabilities. I'm sure you are all aware of the immensely famous DayZ mod? Good news for the modding-fans as Arma III will continue to support the community-mods.

Arma III is scheduled for release on September 12th, 2013. What do you think of these system-requirements? Sound fair? Let us know how you will run this game in the comments below!

from what I can tell, because of the low gpu, it will need a lot of the cpu and well your cpu might not be able to cut it without a good gpu to back it up, you can give the game a try on steam, it is on free weekend for 2-3 days and is 30 dollars for the free weekend; but from my point the cpu can do so much to handle the game, the gpu must handle the graphical but if the gpu is weak the cpu in this game will try to render graphics which gives you lower fps like 10-25s at mid

Yeah, from what Spartan4thewins says, the difference will create a bottleneck that will severely hinder performance.

yep at a high to ultra settings, leave AA to FXAA or low MSAA, and keep view distance at a 1800-2400, you should with that cpu be getting some very nice frame rates of 40-70 average (depending on area, ai, players online and game mode) the game is also at half price for the weekend and is free for the weekend to play it

sorry dude but nope, if you can get a 100 dollar gpu and a good cpu like phenom iix4 970 for 40-60$ then maybe you can run the game, but with the specs you have it would be getting less than 20frames at low-medium

It will be runable but maybe not quite max settings unless you want fps lower than 30, maybe a mixed of medium-high and ultra, max out shadows and keep vision distance at 1600 and you are able get more fps, altis life is horrible at its coding and will decrease everones frame rate to a 25-40fps depending on cities you are at like kavala is an automatic 25-30fps unless no one is there which is impossible on altis life

well the problem is the game needs as much gpu usage as possible, online's coding is the biggest problem of the game, because what ever is running the server is becoming the bottleneck of everyones pc, even if you lower settings you will get the same fps as everyone else (similar unless the others have super i7 overclocked to run at 40 and higher)

the cpu is able to handle but because of the graphics card at low settings you well get singleplayer at a 20fps http://youtu.be/QohAaDjg3q8 this guy has same intel hd graphics but a better cpu and still gets low fps because of gpu, I would suggest to save up for a 100 dollar card like hd 7790 and it will run at high settings at 30-50fps

you will run at a mixed of terrain at high, maxed shadows, objects high or ultra, so i will say at high settigns shadows maxed out at a 40-50fps singleplayer and 30-40fps online depending on map, number of players and optimization
