Back of the Box
After years of intense warfare against Eastern armies, Europe has become the last stand for the battered NATO forces. On the verge of being driven into the sea, NATO command embarks upon a most desperate measure. In the hope of seizing what seems to be a well-guarded military secret, Operation Magnitude is launched. A small group of Special Forces and Researchers are sent to a Mediterranean island deep behind enemy lines. However, the mission is compromised and the task force destroyed, leaving Cpt. Full system requirements for ArmA III reported on Jun-21-2011

While we were at E3 we went and found our friends over at Bohemia Interactive and had a chat about the system requirements they announced for their summer 2012 military sim.

ArmA 3 is being built with the following system requirements in mind

ArmA 3 System Requirements

OS: Windows Vista 64 bit

CPU: Intel Core i5 or AMD Athlon Phenom X4

RAM: 2 GB

GFX: GeForce GTX 260 or Radeon HD 5770

DX: 10

HDD: 15 GB

Now we put it to Bohemia that this is quite a hefty machine by todays global standards and so would ArmA 3 offer some form of in-game configuration to further customise the gaming experience?

Bohemia Interactive explained that they are hoping to offer the player quite a lot of control in the final version, with various screen resolutions and scenery adjusters allowing the player to enjoy the game how they want.

From our chat we have put together our version of the ArmA 3 system requirements

GD - ArmA 3 Minimum System Requirements

OS: Windows Vista 64 bit

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 or AMD Athlon II X2 245

RAM: 2 GB

GFX: GeForce GT 330 or Radeon HD 2900

DX: 10

HDD: 15 GB

GD - ArmA 3 Medium System Requirements

CPU: Intel Core i3-530 or AMD Athlon II X3 440

RAM: 3 GB

GFX: GeForce GTS 240 or Radeon HD 3870

GD - ArmA 3 Ultra System Requirements

CPU: Intel Core i5-661 or AMD Athlon II X4 620

RAM: 4 GB

GFX: GeForce GTX 270 or Radeon HD 4890

As always, bare in mind that these are our GD ArmA 3 system requirements and we will update with more information as soon we get closer to the games release date.

If you are looking to purchase a new machine specifically to run ArmA 3 at its maximum settings we strongly advise that you do not do so until the official system requirements further confirmed closer to the release date next year, summer 2012.

I can recommend the Asus VE248 as an excellent 24" monitor. It's good quality, not hugely expensive, and a sexy looking display all supported by a very sturdy mounting system that's also quite simple. Plus it has a 2ms response time which makes it excellent for gaming :)

Low to medium on the Alpha should run smooth, the final release should be better optimized than the alpha so you should be able to get medium. A processor upgrade would be a great help but it should run fine on your current rig :)

Yeah buddy I think your CPU is bottlenecking your GFX. Get a good quad core i5 CPU and you will be able to run this game on high, otherwise yes what jdsjoel said :)
