Back of the Box
After years of intense warfare against Eastern armies, Europe has become the last stand for the battered NATO forces. On the verge of being driven into the sea, NATO command embarks upon a most desperate measure. In the hope of seizing what seems to be a well-guarded military secret, Operation Magnitude is launched. A small group of Special Forces and Researchers are sent to a Mediterranean island deep behind enemy lines. However, the mission is compromised and the task force destroyed, leaving Cpt. Scott Miller washed ashore upon the hostile island. In his effort to carry out the mission, he will face the dangers of modern warfare, an unforgiving environment, and the consequences of his own decisions...

Full system requirements for ArmA III reported on Aug-17-2013

The regular GD visitor will have seen these requirements coming, as Bohemia Interactive, the ARMA 3 devs, have continually kept us updated for the past couple of years on what is to be the expected requirements.

Now that we are close to launch, the official requirements have just been finalized, so lets take a look and see if you can run ARMA 3 system requirements...

Arma III is a tactical shooter, one of the few that try to priorities realism (effectively). With that come huge maps, loads of vehicles, weapons and of course pretty and detailed leaves. There is no denying that Arma III is a good looking game, and with all the events happening it will likely take some horsepower.

In addition Bohemia Interactive previously stated that they will offer the player many graphical and system customization options in ARMA III, when the game releases. For example, screen resolutions can be adjusted as well as countless scenery option tweaks.

Alright, now you know what we are looking at and won't tumble across any surprises, lets see what you need to run this game, the official system requirements.

Arma III Recommended System Requirements

OS: Win Vista SP2 or Win 7 SP1 (Apple OS is not supported)

CPU: Intel Core i5-2300 or AMD Phenom II X4 940

GPU RAM: 1 GB graphics memory

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 or AMD Radeon HD 7750

RAM: 4 GB of memory

DX: 11 Direct X

HD: 25GB spare hard drive space

This title is PC only and clearly an example of a game that utilizes a hefty CPU, although interestingly can be played by a mid-range GPU. This CPU requirement is most likely due to the large ARMA 3 maps, the high number of possible players and their actions, which all need continual processing.

It's predecessor enjoyed a resurgence in popularity due to it's modding capabilities. I'm sure you are all aware of the immensely famous DayZ mod? Good news for the modding-fans as Arma III will continue to support the community-mods.

Arma III is scheduled for release on September 12th, 2013. What do you think of these system-requirements? Sound fair? Let us know how you will run this game in the comments below!

You should be fine playing it, but don't expect 60 Fps max settings even I cant get that, maybe mix up the settings, textures on High and things like AA on very low or turned off, lower clouds and shadows, you should probably be able to get something like 25 - 40 depending on the situation and sever

You should be able to play this game pretty well, you might have to lower the settings a little bit but that should be expected with an Arma game, its highly dependent on the processor and the graphics card can make very little difference when it comes to this game,

You would be able to run it, but you would have to put your settings way down and even then you would probably only be getting like 10-25 fps, I recommend you get a new possessor and card, they are both low end pieces of kit and are useless when it comes to game, upgrading that ram would not hurt either

I disagree, we have a kinda close setup, although my processor is a good bit better but not by far and even I don't get 30+ FPS on Ultra settings, you would have to either sacrifice resolution or bring down things like AA and Alpha to Coverage to play on Ultra graphics and even then you would struggle to get 35 Fps

You could probably get decent FPS with mixed settings, I would say put things like Pip, clouds and shadows on low, you would be able to have quality settings on medium to high with things like AA on low or turned off and be able to get okay FPS

I reckon that you would be able to play this game fine, that overclock could make all the difference as the game is very possessor intensive as are most of the Arma games and Dayz, you could probably get something like 25-50 Fps depending on the activity on the screen at once and the location that your at on the map

No, your card us great! But the game is processor intensive, you would have to mix up your setting to get 60 if that is what you want, I recommend things like pip, shadows and clouds on low and texture settings on max, maybe play around with things like AA to get the best quality and gameplay experience mixture!

Yes, I am able to run it pretty well, you would have to lower your settings a little but you would still be able to make the game look nice and get good Fps, it all depends on how many players there are on the server and on the screen at once, the server itself could make a big difference, some are good, others laggy
