Full system requirements for Borderlands 2 reported on Jul-27-2012

A cartoony FPS? Gearbox Software took a design leap with Borderlands and to everyone’s delight, it paid off. The game stood out from the crowd. The stylised black outline around characters and backgrounds, seen traditionally in cartoons, was used to great effect. We are told that part of the reasoning behind this move was so they could push the visual boundaries of console hardware, while lowering the performance hit. Very smart.

What impact does that design choice have on PC gamers in the next game of Borderlands? Well Borderlands 2 system requirements are now available, so lets see shall we...

We had a chance to play the game first hand recently and it was a good laugh for sure, but whether it would require something as hefty as a GTX 560 to meet recommended we are not so sure. Chances are you will be able to play the game with a lesser GPU and a few things turned down a little.

Speaking of which, we took a picture of the graphics option screen, although a little blurry, you can see some of the options that will be open to PC gamers.

Yes, I even think medium settings will run smoothly on his rig. Just no PhysX and tell him to set the FOV to a more mediocre value, like 80 or 90.

Try low at first and don't enable PhysX. Keep the view distance on low and the FOV at no more than 90. If everything runs smoothly (which it should) slightly increase your settings to low-medium or medium :)

Interesting thing, Nvidia GeForce Experience optimize all settings at the highest lvl but it LAGS :(

18:17 Apr-14-2014

Well, high is the highest available option in this game. So you are basically running it on ultra.
However, there are some issues with this game's optimization. The CPU/GPU usage just drops randomly and that's why you're getting 30 fps in fights. I fixed that by putting everything on ultra at 1080p, with the exception of FOV (90), view distance (medium) and PhysX (low). You can leave the PhysX on, but try setting everything else up like me and see how well the game runs then.
