Full system requirements for Borderlands 2 reported on Jul-27-2012

A cartoony FPS? Gearbox Software took a design leap with Borderlands and to everyone’s delight, it paid off. The game stood out from the crowd. The stylised black outline around characters and backgrounds, seen traditionally in cartoons, was used to great effect. We are told that part of the reasoning behind this move was so they could push the visual boundaries of console hardware, while lowering the performance hit. Very smart.

What impact does that design choice have on PC gamers in the next game of Borderlands? Well Borderlands 2 system requirements are now available, so lets see shall we...

We had a chance to play the game first hand recently and it was a good laugh for sure, but whether it would require something as hefty as a GTX 560 to meet recommended we are not so sure. Chances are you will be able to play the game with a lesser GPU and a few things turned down a little.

Speaking of which, we took a picture of the graphics option screen, although a little blurry, you can see some of the options that will be open to PC gamers.

That GPU is quite weak, so I think the best you can achieve is about 20 fps at a lower res and low settings. I suggest you skip it :)

You should run it quite well on low, your GPU is a problem though. I would look into upgrading as your CPU isn't bad at all. :)

Actually, this game only has low, med and high so that would mean OP would be able to max it out :D I think medium or medium-high with FXAA would be the best option.

FXAA is a less demanding kind of anti aliasing.
and yes, most likely you would max it at that res with no AA

auntarie
12:40 May-20-2013

No, it's not that taxing so it wouldn't make much of a difference. I'd suggest staying with 1920x1080 and just playing on medium-high. The game will not look good at all if it's not played at your native res, even if you have all the settings on high :/

I'm leaning more towards low-med because OP's CPU is the one that is listed as a minimum requirement...
