There were legal problems surrounding this game around the time Ubisoft picked it up. South Park Studios claimed they were still owed a couple of million dollars in payments for the game, and THQ/Obsidian had yet to cough it up. I can't believe Ubi would have not taken this into consideration before buying the license, but I'll bet somehow this delinquent payment is at least partially to blame for the game's delay.

It's 2.5D-based, like the show. In fact, if you look at screenshots, it pretty much looks exactly like an episode. This was absolutely done on purpose.
