Back of the Box
The game consists of dungeon crawling in hostile environments and exploits the tension instilled by risk versus reward game mechanics and penalties upon player death. Dark Souls takes place in an open world environment, with the player able to travel to and from areas and explore various available paths. Dark Souls allows players to light Bonfires, which function as respawn locations. These bonfires also replenish health, magic, and special items like Estus flasks - limited vials that restore health, but also respawn all enemies previously defeated, except for bosses and certain special enemies

Full system requirements for Dark Souls reported on Jun-02-2012

The PC conversion of Dark Souls was championed by staunch PC industry veterans earlier this year, until Namco saw that it would definitely make a lot of people happy should it eventually reach our personal computers.

Well that time is drawing ever nearer and we now have the Dark Souls system requirements, so lets take a look and see what sort of system you might need to run Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition...

Dark Souls System Requirements

OS: Windows XP , Windows Vista, Windows 7, or newer

CPU: 2.6 GHz Dual-Core

GPU RAM: 512MB

GPU: ATI Radeon 4850 or better, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT or better

RAM: 1GB (XP), 2GB (Vista/7)

OTHER: Multiplayer requires microphone headset support

So there we go. As expected, only a fairly modest PC, by todays standards, is required to run Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition for the PC.

Thanks to Cham0d for getting these details.

The PC version called Dark Souls Prepare To Die Edition is due out on August 24th 2012.

Does this dark RPG excite you? What do you think the Prepare To Die Edition will have in terms of extras compared to the original console version?

Wrong section, please use "shout out" for non-game related questions.
Anyway, to your question:
Yes E4400 are older, but the architecture of Core2Duo are better then pentium. In gaming the C2D E4400 will therefore perform better than the pentium E5500, reason ranking differency. Also they are from different intel generations and series so the frequency can't be compared to compare performance.

Medium to high settings on your res should give you a good playability. But I must say the optimization is pretty bad,on some areas it will lag no matter the rig you have.Ido hope I am not too late with this reply. :)

I think you can, because I know that the game has trouble with AMD hardware, and you use Intel and NVIDIA, so you should be fine. And thats a good GPU.
