Defiance System Requirements [pc]

RTS mixed with FPS mixed with vehicle sim. We have seen awesome genre bending titles come and go. We have also seen movie tie ins fizzle and pop. What we havent yet experienced is what Defiance is going to try and do.

Defiance on the PC is an MMO that will be influenced by what happens on a TV show by the same name. That combo may not work first time round but we are keen to see how it goes. Lets see if we can run Defiance on our PCs as here are the Defiance System Requirements...

Defiance Minimum System Requirements

OS: Win XP SP2

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz CPU or better

RAM: 2GB System Memory

GPU RAM: 512MB video card

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 8600, ATI Radeon HD 2900, or Intel HD 4000 integrated graphics or better

DX: 9.0c direct x

HD: 15GB of free hard drive space

AUDIO: DirectX 8.1 compatible sound card

So there we have it. A lot of games are pushing for Intel i5's now adays as recommended. We feel that this is often something of an overkill as there are plenty of great but cheaper CPUs. However, it certainly is the time of the GPU so make sure you meet those aging minimums or you might get quite an ugly experience.

Another interesting turn up for the books is the Intel integrated HD 4000 being in the minimum requirements list. Thats one of the first times Integrated GPUs have been recognised as a suitable requirement, even if it is a minimum requirement.

Yeah, if you get that GFX then your CPU will bottleneck it. If you can upgrade both components and aim for balanced rig
