Back of the Box
Fight in the theatre of war that changed the world forever. Battle alongside your compatriots on some of the most inhospitable environments of the Eastern Front in Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 RO places you in the most realistic WWII first-person multi-player combat to date on the PC, allowing the player to fight through some of the most intense combat of the war. You can play as infantry, using a wide range of infantry weapons, or crew one of the many armoured combat vehicles available in the game, from half-tracks all the way through to the most famous German and Soviet heavy tanks. You can engage the enemy with everything from your bayonet at close quarters up to the massive 122mm cannon on the Soviet IS-2. And if that isn't enough, find an officer and a radio to call in thunderous artillery strikes to shake the enemy loose.

This is one of the best FPS games I've ever played, the realism is outstanding - only aiming possibility is the iron sighr, and if the enemy is far away you have to aim bit "forward" because the bullet's won't hit instantly, they actually travel to the target so you have to actually aim.
When you get shot your screen starts to shake, like IRL if you go paintball or airsoft, you kinda "panic" when someone is spraying in your direction, so even cover fire plays role in the game. It's really epic game even though the graphics aren't the best, but you feel like you're actual soldier in WWII!

After playing the Call of Duties, Battlefields and various Sci Fi shooters, Red Orchestra and its mods (Darkest Hour and Mare Nostrum) are the shooters I cant walk away from. Intuitive controls, good historic accuracy and no flashing subtitles to tell you who's a baddy. Friendly fire is an unfortunate consequence...:-)

Now I know what happened to those 8 million Russians....Half of them were shot by their own side..:-(
