The latest system requirements News for War Thunder
Full system requirements for War Thunder reported on Sep-01-2013

Only a few days ago a pretty exciting new trailer was released for Gaijin Entertainment's Free-to-Play WWII combat MMO, War Thunder. In it you'll take to the air, land and sea to beat your foes.

The video looked great, and although it didn't contain actual gameplay footage it certainly got our attention. Hopefully the War Thunder System Requirements listed below will give you an idea of how it will look on your PC...

War Thunder Minimum System Requirements

OS: Windows XP SP2

CPU: Pentium 4 2.2GHz or Athlon XP 2200+

RAM: 1GB System Memory

GPU: Nvidia GeForce 7900 GT series or AMD Radeon 1900 series

DX: DirectX 9.0c

HDD: 8 GB Free Hard Drive Space

NET: Broadband Internet connection

War Thunder Recommended System Requirements

OS: Windows 7

CPU: Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz or Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4800+

RAM: 4GB System Memory

GPU: Nvidia GeForce 460 or Radeon HD 6850

So from the looks of both the minimum and the Recommended War Thunder System Requirements, it's not asking too much from your PC. Obviously at the lower end of the scale it's not going to stack up against what's being shown in the trailers, but it means it'll probably run pretty well on all but the most beaten up rig. The recommended requirements aren't all that high either so it would be interesting to see what would be considered ultra system requirements for War Thunder. Considering it's a Free-to-Play title, there's no reason why you shouldn't give it a go.

Let us know what you think of War Thunder below. Are you likely to play it now that you've seen the system requirements?

OK… Yesterday tried the game, have on max setting (without antialiasing) 60-70 Fps on game start and 5-30 in middle/end game, on low settings have 60-70 FPS on game start and 5-30 in middle/end game… WTF ?..

you should be fine on high and averaging 60fps. in this game FPS is king so if you can live with lower quality in trade for smoother game play go for it. nothing like lining up a shot and they are jumping around everywhere lol

Indeed, even though I apparently can't run this on custom settings with all sliders at lowest, no AA but texture resolution at half gets me 30fps and thats fine. It looks ok and I get 30fps and the russian planes are awesome.
