Back of the Box
Skyrim retains the traditional open world gameplay found in the Elder Scrolls series. The player is free to roam the land of Skyrim at will. Within Skyrim lie five cities, comparatively larger to those in Oblivion's Cyrodiil setting, and expanses of wilderness and mountainous ranges. When visiting cities, the player can complete activities such as farming and mining, and is able to smith weapons from a forge. Aside from the main story quest, the player can complete side-quests, which are dynamically created based on the player's actions within the game. The in-game head-up display can be hidden, and the menu is presented in a compass-style overlay.

Full system requirements for The Elder Scrolls V reported on Oct-25-2011

Probably the biggest RPG of the year, it would be a rare gamer who has not heard of the Elder Scrolls V or Skyrim. The game is due for release in only a couple of weeks and the excitement is building fast.

A few minutes ago the Skyrim system requirements were announced and one of our awesome visitors clicked the link in our GD news feed at the top of all our pages to let us know. THANKS Fierow! Lets take a look at those Skyrim specs...

Skyrim Minimum System Requirements

OS: Windows 7/Vista/XP (32 or 64 bit)

CPU: dual core 2GHz

RAM: 2GB

HDD: 6GB hard disk space

GFX: DX9c video card with 512MB RAM

OTHER: Internet Access for Steam activation

Skyrim Recommended System Requirements

OS: Windows 7/Vista/XP (32 or 64 bit)

CPU: quad-core Intel/AMD

RAM: 4GB

HDD: 6GB hard disk space

GFX RAM: DX9 video card with 1 GB

GFX: GTX 260/Radeon 4890 or higher

Audio: DX compatible sound card

One point of note is how low the HDD space required is. We thought it would be around 15-20GB but reported as only 6GB. Maybe a typo? If you hear different then let us know.

Pete Hines says - The Skyrim minimum specs get you playing, the Skyrim recommended specs let you play on High, not on Ultra. You'll want a beefier rig for that.

So baring that in mind lets take a look at what we reckon would be a suitable computer to get Skyrim running to a satisfactory level

GD Requirements for Skyrim

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8300 2.83GHz / AMD Athlon II X2 265

RAM: 4GB

GFX: Nvidia GeForce GT 545 DDR3 / ATI Radeon HD 5670 1024MB

As always we will be looking to your feedback on this as the game comes out and you run your own tests head over to our Skyim Ratings page and pump in your frames per second and scores.

Like many we are certainly looking forward to playing The Elder Scrolls 5 and lets hope the game has moved on enough from Oblivion to put Skyrim a head above any other RPG.

Sep-27-2011 Skyrim will be a huge success this year and it's release is getting ever closer. Putting together the list of big actors should help us see what sort of budget Bethesda have running with this one. Le...

Huh? At his res I'd say mostly low with one or two settings on medium would get him 40+ fps :/

HD 4000 gets about 20-30 FPS on med with 720p
and i dont really think 7450 can get that much
even my HD 4000 is stronger than his, and i barely get 20 on med :|

That's pretty weird. This game is really well optimized. Maybe it doesn't run so well on Intel iGPU's

0

09:11 Jul-24-2014

yeah maybe :/
i even checked notebookcheck
and their bench shows that HD 4000 can barely play at low :/
look at around 300 for the HD 4000

Yes, if you mean the DLC high-res texture. If you use 2k at ultra graphics, I'd say you'd get around 45-50FPS. If you use 4k at ultra graphics, maybe 25-40FPS.

well that depends on the mods being used tbh
but mostly you should get around that
and for ENB i suggest going with Insomnia

I tried Insomnia and it didn't look as good as RealVision to me. Personally, I'd just get Climates of Tamriel and RealVision if you want 60 fps
