Back of the Box

The story takes place in the year 3015 set on a planet called Deshler, near the end of the Third Succession War, set before the events of the original MechWarrior and right before Hanse Davion comes into power. The main protagonist is Adrian Khol, fourth son of the noble family who rules Deshler in the name of House Davion. Although in training as a MechWarrior, Adrian never takes his training and duties seriously, until the day his entire family is wiped out during the war. Spared from the massacre during a make-up test for mech training, Adrian eventually changes his thinking and takes up responsibility against the rebels who killed his family and takes his place as successor of the family throne.

MechWarrior Online System Requirements [pc]

Mechwarrior Online seems to have had a long and bumpy development cycle. Only within the last year or so has it swapped from a vehicle simulator to a free to play MMO.

It has been a while since a battlemech based game has reached the PC. For those unsure, you get to control and fight skyscraper sized battle robots. Sound cool? Well lets take a look at the MechWarrior Online System Requirements...

MechWarrior Online Minimum System Requirements

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66GHz or AMD Athlon II X2 245e

GPU: Nvidia GeForce 8800GT or AMD Radeon HD 5600/5700

RAM: 4GB

MechWarrior Online Recommended System Requirements

CPU: Intel Core i3-2500 or AMD Athlon II X4 650

The representative from developers, Piranha Games, followed up by saying this regarding the MWO System Requirements -

Right now a duo core system is our minimum spec machine but it is also our main focus of concern. It is playable on those specifications and I have tested it myself but it is currently very much a minimum spec type of experience running on low-detail settings. It’s obvious that a Quad core system is the key as even the earliest Core 2 Quad systems run the game very well and it is our goal (since there are still so many out there), to optimize the Core 2 Duo systems to run much faster.

Thats some hefty recommended RAM requirements there and interestingly they seem to recommend a Intel Core i3-2500 CPU. As far as I know that doesnt exist and they actually mean an i5-2500. Please let me know if I am wrong about that.
