Back of the Box
This new generation of zombies is deadlier and hungrier, so drive fast and look alive. Pick up whatever you can along the way, strap it to something else, and call it a weapon. The end of the world has never looked so fun. Only on Xbox One.
Dead Rising 3 follows new protagonist Nick Ramos and his attempt to survive a massive zombie outbreak in the fictional city of Los Perdidos, California.[3] Unlike previous Dead Rising installments, which took place in a relatively contained mall setting, Dead Rising 3 is set in a vast, open world city environment which is reportedly larger than the worlds of Dead Rising and Dead Rising 2 combined

the most demanding graphics of the year.Exaggerated waaay too much! Battlefield 3 and Crysis are less demanding than this.

Indeed they are. Well, I think this game won't really be as demanding as they make it out to be. It runs on XB1, after all.

youre looking at graphic quality. how about the amount of on-screen objects (zombies) and how everyone is supposed to be different, even if its only slightly. think of all that extra texture data, 3d objects and calculations and all their movement and suddenly youd realize that this isnt just a port of a xbone game bought seems to actually be an upgrade.

nevermind that it runs at 1080 at 60fps, something the xbone didnt do. suddenly the requirements kind of make sense.

different game engines. how many people does unity have on screen at once? dead rising 2 could have up to 7,000 zombies on screen at once and dead rising 3 can have up to 3 times as much (21,000).

believe me…this is too high…many games this day have insane system req… for example, watch dogs require powerful gpu for mini req and its can play on lower gpu. maybe Unity have less people than this game, but you can climb the tower and see the people. about dx11, i don't think you need dx11 for minimum settings(graphics looks nothing special)…looks like this game have less graphics settings, maybe you can't disable e.g shadow etc….you see? (sorry for the english)

why shouldnt they make it dx11 to start? the new consoles use it and its time to move on past dx9 and dx10. you need to look up what dx11 added. graphic effects isnt everything that dx is about, but also using the newer systems better.

no thats called moving on to the future. you realize every other industry does it in the world so why not pc hardware and game makers. they are optimizing for the hardware from 4 years ago. why keep using stuff from 12 years ago. time to move on and that will mean people will have to be left behind.

0
auntarie
16:54 Aug-22-2014

Darknatexs has a point. We keep talking about next gen, but we still get DX10 or even 9 games that run on Xbox 360. It's high time we moved on, there's no point in making powerful cards like the 780ti when the latest games run on 9-year-old hardware. When it comes to PC gaming, you either get with the times or get left behind.

well, it's right…but i think this req for 1080p…but it's still insane req to me…(many games i see have insane req this day)…i still don't trust this req. (many times game dev lie to us) sorry for the english :)

another game have unbelievable req http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=9278&game=FIFA%2015 …do you trust?

1
auntarie
18:11 Aug-22-2014

Oh, no, these games are just probably covering up for bad optimization. I've seen DR3 gameplay on Xbox 1 and it's not next-gen… It's basically DR2 with a couple new features and slightly polished graphics. I don't even know if the engine is really new.
Not saying the game is bad though, don't get me wrong.

they moved onto the future by keeping it dx11. if w7 uses dx11 then so be it. but vista and xp are gone and so is old hardware. like someone said in the nba 2k15 page, people complain if the requirements are low and how consoles are keeping us back and then they scream bad optimization if the requirements are high.

new games should require newer hardware. staying with old hardware holds back all our games. i want better graphics, more characters, better ai and better physics. why should i have to suffer with lame "high end" games just to appeal to the dx9/10 crowd. budget games should use budget hardware and high end games should use high end hardware.

i5-4570 is not equivalent to FX-6350 GD says its 19% faster than the FX one and ranked 10 so why is it ranked 9 here and written equal to FX-6350 (under recommended requirements) whereas i can see my cpu is 19% faster?

We are in the middle of a CPU rank update, so some CPUs are messed up. Everything should be back to normal soon though, and all CPUs should be ranked appropriately, according to the results they show in benchmarks.

Are these actually the official requirements? If so, this may be a contender for worst optimization of the year.
