PC System Analysis for Mafia 2
Born the son of a poor immigrant, Vito is a beaten down Italian American who is trying to escape the life of poverty that consumed his childhood. It was on the streets that Vito learns that joining the Mafia is the only route to wealth and respect for people of his standing. Wanting to escape the life of hardship that his father led, he dreams about becoming a “Made Man.”A petty criminal his whole life, Vito, along with his childhood friend, Joe, will descend into the world of organized crime. Together, they will work to prove themselves to the Mafia as they try to make their names on the streets. Starting with low-level jobs like robbery and stealing cars, Vito and Joe escalate quickly up the Mafia family ladder…but the life as a wise guy isn’t quite as glamorous as it seems.

Hey guys. I was wondering if i could run this game on my PC. Settings and FPS. Probably wouldn't turn AA all the way up. Thanks.

A desktop cpu and a laptop gpu? Anyway. You can max it out with 2x MSAA.
EDIT: Oh and I think you'd get 60fps at max with 2x MSAA. But if you don't, I'd recommend turning it off as you can barely see AA in this game.

Depending on your resolution, of course, you can probably max it out. Maybe without AA though, but that doesn't matter too much in this game.

Should work at around 25-30fps or so. If you want more than that, you might want to overclock your cpu slightly (or swap it with a fast (-3GHz) Core 2 Duo or any Core 2 Quad).

Sure. But then he's changed his rig. I think he had something like a Pentium Dual Core or slow C2D then, judging by what I said.

I still have the same gig. I edited the gig on GD just so I can see the system requierments easier. I want to buy a Gtx 970 g1 gaming and a i5 6600k in the near future. At the moment I have a Intel Dual Core E2200, and a GMA 3100 chipset.

You used to have a separate graphics card, right? A GMA can barely play GTA San Andreas at a playable frame rate…

Now you can. The 520 should be able to play it decently at your native resolution (everything on minimum apart from geometry detail and shadow quality. You can put those on high).

Just about…. Make sure you've updated your graphics driver and so on, maybe overclock your gpu slightly if you want to, and maybe run at a slightly lower res. But it'll be half decently playable at 768p anyway.

Lowest, apart from shadow quality and geometry detail (you can put those on high). Also, I'd suggest playing at 720p resolution rather than 1080p.

Might have something to do with drivers or so, since it's a Quadro? I used to have a (worse) HD 2600XT, and I played it at 768p with that. That was with a 2,5GHz quad core Xeon though. A C2D is only barely enough for Mafia 2.

I think it might be your cpu then. I used to have an E6400 which didn't really cut it either. You can find out with a program like MSi Afterburner. You might want tot try to overclock the cpu, because those cpus overclock very well.

You could probably get it up to like 3GHz if you want. Just google some overclocking guides for Conroe (the architecture on which your cpu is based). It's not that difficult.

Certainly not. More like 30fps. He'd be bottlenecked by his cpu, and even his gpu wouldn't get 60fps on ultra (probably 40fps or so at ultra without AA).

No it can't. That's about what I get with my rig. You're lucky if you can even get GTA V to run properly on a C2D (sometimes it can't render the map fast enough).

Hehe he can certainly play Mafia 1 at highest settings ;) And he might be able to play GTA V as well, but you need some luck with a c2d. A friend of mine just couldn't get it to work properly on his 2,93GHz one (with 750Ti).
