Back of the Box
Welcome to the world of DayZ, hit by a new and presently unknown infection which has wiped out most of the world's population. You are one of the few that have survived and now you must search this new wasteland in order to fight for your life against what is left of the indigenous population now infected with the disease. Go solo, team up with friends or take on the world, as you choose your path in this brutal and chilling landscape using whatever means you stumble upon to survive.
This is DayZ, this is your story.
DayZ is a gritty, authentic, open-world survival horror hybrid-MMO game, in which players follow a single goal: to survive in the harsh post-apocalyptic landscape as long as they can. Players can experience powerful events and emotions arising from the ever-evolving emergent gameplay. There are no superficial tips, waypoints, built in tutorials or help given to players. Every decision matters, there are no save games, no extra lives, every mistake can be lethal. If you f

Full system requirements for DayZ Standalone reported on Dec-17-2013

DayZ has taken its merry time shuffling its way to a full retail release, but the zombie-slaying online survival sim has finally made its way to Steam with an early alpha release of DayZ Standalone.

DayZ Standalone is the follow-up to the incredibly popular Arma II mod, DayZ, pitting you and dozens of other players up against impending zombie doom. Already featuring over 230km² of landmass, this looks like one not to miss. So be sure to check the DayZ Standalone Alpha System Requirements to see if your PC gives a double-tap to the zombie hordes or gets its brains devoured by the masses...

DayZ Minimum System Requirements

OS: Windows Vista SP2 or Windows 7 SP1

CPU: Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz or Athlon X2 2.5 GHz

RAM: 2GB System Memory

GPU RAM: 512MB Graphics Memory

GPU: Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT 512MB or AMD Radeon HD 3830

DX: DirectX 9.0c

HDD: 10 GB Free Hard Drive Space

DayZ Recommended System Requirements

OS: Windows 7 SP1

CPU: 2.8 GHz Quad Core Intel Core i5-2300 or 3GHz AMD Phenom II X4 940

RAM: 4 GB System Memory

GPU RAM: 1 GB Graphics Memory

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 or AMD Radeon HD 7750

HDD: 14 GB Free Hard Drive Space

The minimum requirements on DayZ look to be very reasonable for a game on this scale. Anyone who met the recommended requirements for the original DayZ mod should be comfortable playing this game.

The minimum requirements for DayZ standalone require the classic Nvidia GeForce 8800GT and upwards, as well as a dual-core processor clocked at at least 2.4GHz. It's worth bearing in mind that the more chaotic things get in DayZ the more your system's going to struggle. Those of you with PCs neared the minimum requirements will be fine during the slower-paced parts of the game but once it heats up may struggle to keep pace.

The recommended settings are a  bitof step up, with the extra hard drive space evidently going to higher resolution textures which will be more demanding on systems. DayZ is fairly CPU dependent so having a higher-tier processor could also make a huge difference. Joining those larger servers it's probably best to have more than the minimum 2GB of RAM but overall this game isn't overly demanding for what it is, with the Arma II engine the game is based upon now over four years old.

Remember, you can always check out how well your PC can run the DayZ Standalone System Requirements here, where you can check benchmarking and performance from other users.

Okay then, what do you think of these system requirements?

Have you already had a play, how does it run on your rig?

Is your resolution 1280x720 or 1920x1080? What you put in is kind of confusing… Anyway, you should be able to play on ultra settings with 30+ fps or more, depending on the resolution.

Then ultra with no AA. Your fps should be smooth overall, with some drops in bigger cities, but you should never fall below 30, I think :)

Yes, low settings at the resolution you listed and 20-30 fps. It's up to you to say if you find that playable :/

Ultra settings and around 60 fps. You will probably have drops to around 40-45, but it shouldn't be anything too bad :)

Go for ultra with no AA, if you want to reach 60 fps. The game is still a beta, so the optimization isn't particularly good. That's why AA isn't really recommended. You shouldn't see any jagged edges at 1080p anyway, so no worries :)

08:03 Jul-29-2014

It's still the same chip. The 6450 is an HTPC graphics card, not really meant for gaming. And its performance isn't that great. Also, this game is a beta, so the optimization is pretty much all over the place. It's not recommended to try and play a game like this with a GPU that's below the minimum requirements :/
