Radeon HD 7790 is a Fast-Middle-Class Graphics Card based on the First Revision of the Graphics Core Next (GCN) Architecture.
The GCN Architecture succeeds the 40nm Terascale Architecture. In addition to being produced with a 28nm Technology, the GCN Architecture adds other Technologies that allow for energy efficiency. For example, ZeroCore Power, a long idle power saving technology, allows the Graphics Cards to shut down by itself when the Monitor is turned off.
GCN also adds Improved Anisotropic Filtering, DirectX 11 Tessellation and the Partially Resident Textures (PRT) Technology, which enables future games to utilize ultra-high resolution textures with the same performance as today's small and often repetitive textures.
It equips a GPU Codenamed Bonaire XT which has 14 Compute Units activated and thus offers 896 Shader Processing Units, 56 TMUs and 16 ROPs. The Central Unit is clocked at 1000MHz.
The GPU accesses a 1GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 256-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is adequate. The Memory Clock Operates at 1500MHz.
With a rated board TDP of 85W, it requires at least a 450W PSU with one available 6-pin connectors.
Radeon HD 7790 competes with GeForce GTX 650 Ti and its performance is slightly above it.
Radeon HD 7790 is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1600x900. We recommend a Decent Processor (Intel Core i3 Quad Core/AMD FX Quad Core) and 8GB of RAM for Optimal Performance.
Will it run in my i5-2500 3.3 Ghz 8Gb? And if it does, which games would you recommend me to play at mid-high graphics?
Is this the same as my gpu 1gb version or its better? :/
Can some Wise one please clarify?
Will this GPU somehow support DX12? (I know here in GD it say's dx 11.1)
bc i read something a bit confusing there…
so what i understand is: Yes there is DX12 support but not 100%
If so then i made the right key choice with it!;-)
Is this the best card @ 1366x728?
I've had an old PSU (Huntkey CP300) for 6 years. I'm planning to upgrade my HD 4670 to HD 7790. 4670 is 65W and 7790 is 85W. Do you think that PSU can run my PC with new games from now on? I hear the 7790 can consume up to 150W.
Will i have a bottleneck and can 430w handle this
can i put it and i will put 4 gb on my 4 gb ram and i will hvae 8 gb ram? is it enaugh for 2-3 years to play modern games on medium or high
Which gpu is better? Mine or this?
Guys, please. this gpu on my rig? bottleneck?
