GeForce 8600 GTS 512MB Review

GeForce 8600 GTS is a fast-middle-class GFX based on the 80nm variant of the first-shader unified architecture.
It's based on the G84 Core and offers 32 Shader Processing Units, 16 TMUs and 8 ROPs, on a 128-bit memory interface of GDDR3. The central unit runs at 675MHz and the memory clock operates 1000MHz. It will consume no more than 75 Watt.
It's therefore a further clocked GeForce 8600 GT and should be significantly faster.
This GPU is only suited for a 1024x768 (or less) resolution. Today's games will run at medium settings although extremely demanding games might not run at all. DirectX 11 based games aren't supported and its performance will decrease drastically, as the resolution increases.

The engine used in the game, Frostbite 2, is pretty modern and it requires some pretty modern hardware to run smoothly.

bcz this card cannot play modern games like mass effect 3/the witcher 2 etc.i suggest you to buy ATi Radeon X1950 Pro i also have this card it can run nfs the run at the medium setting and x1950 and can defeat AMD's radeon HD 2000,3000 and 4000 series graphics cards and defeat nvidia's graphics cards till geforce 8000 series.....

Yes,the gfx is a bit old,but,still nice gfx.. I overclocked this gpu from 675 to 800 MHz,and I can still play latest games on medium with my AMD 64 X2 5000+ oc.:D
