Is buying one of these still worth it. I know it's old but I'm looking for something to make do with until the 960 ti comes out or I'm forced to go with the 970

with small oc on that card you can be easy on level 760 so for your res sound more proper but if you budged alows getting 970 its going to be great deal for more years

Over locking isn't something I'm comfortable with, besides my card has no power connections.

Sorry for the confusion, my fault. But as I said I'm not comfortable with over clocking.

I've never done any overclocking before and, as I don't know what I'm doing, i won't risk it.

This card runs almost anything I throw at it smoothly and without a hassle, highly recommend if you got the dough.

Yes it will.Atlhough your CPU can chew up any game at any settings.Maybe not latest like FarCry or Crysis 3 when it come out.The bottleneck is minimal or none.If you get more FPS in games by increasing the CPU clock then OC it 10% otherwise let it on stock.

And try to overclock with higher "fsb" that can help with bottleneck issue

Yeah your Athlon will bottleneck the card in most of the games. However you can OC it a bit.Yes you will see massive gains after putting 660Ti up ;)

Yes you will see the gains.Bottleneck isn't black or white 1 or 0.It can be more or less. Currently 4870 is a bottleneck for the games. And where do you get 20-30 FPS?

The phenom should go well with this card. If there is any bottleneck it's going to be nearly unnoticeable. :)
