61% better than mine, guess I'll take this over the GTX 780, which is only 29% better.

Wait for it, keep saving up, I have the AMD Radeon HD 7970 and like I commented this is 61% better, it'll probably be worth the extra money.

At 1080p it should be able to, it might even be able to at 1440p but we'll have to wait for benchmarks.

I guess the higher end is going to be released together with the Battlefield 4 release. AMD is sponsor of battlefield 4, and it would also bring a lot of attention to their side, so it does make a lot of sense…

They're not a sponsor for Battlefield 4, the game is just optimised for AMD GPUs on launch.

Well "sponsor" just as nVidia is with 'The way it's meant to be played'

Again, that's not a sponsor. That's NVIDIA's slogan.

But it's "sponsoring" if you put that slogan on a game and work with developers to make that specific game run well on your hardware ;)

Correct. It would indeed make a lot of sense to release the cards close to the BF4 release - especially the 9970 which I'm assuming will be their only single GPU 9000 Series card for enthusiasts. Releasing the cards in early-mid October would be smart, they'd have a few weeks to iron out driver bugs before the release of Battlefield 4.

I think most people would rather have a single GPU configuration with slightly less performance than SLI or Crossfire though.
