GeForce GTX 765M Game Requirement Analysis

Overview
GeForce GTX 760M is a Performance Mobile Graphics Card based on the first revision of the Kepler Architecture.

Architecture
The Kepler Architecture was NVIDIA's big step to power efficiency. Each Stream Multiprocessor (SMX) now hosts 192 Shader Processing Units - against the 48 of older Fermi Architecture, and has been redesigned being now clocked at the same speed of the Central Unit. This means they are more energy efficient and will consequently lead to cooler operating temperatures. However, it also means they are weaker. It can be said that one Fermi SMX is as fast as 2 Kepler SMXs.
Additionally, and not available in all GPUs, Kepler also introduced the Boost Clock Feature. The Boost Clock is an even higher Clock Speed activated when in gaming mode and becomes the effective speed of the GPU.

GPU
It equips a GPU Codenamed GK106-N14E-GE-B-A1 which has 4 Stream Multiprocessors activated and thus offers 768 Shader Processing Units, 64 TMUs and 16 ROPs. The Central Unit is clocked at 850MHz.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 2GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 128-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is exaggerated and no way benefits the GPU. The Memory Clock Operates at 1002MHz.

Features
DirectX 11.0 Support (11.0 Hardware Default) and support for SLI, Kepler Boost, Optimus, CUDA, OpenCL, DirectCompute, 3D Vision Surround, PhysX, Realtime Raytracing and other technologies

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 65W, it is suited for large laptops.

Performance
Despite being underclocked, when compared to GeForce GTX 650 Ti, GeForce GTX 765M ends up performing better in most cases as fast since the Kepler Boost 2.0 Technology allows an even higher Central Unit Speed, which most times exceeds the 950MHz.
Gaming benchmarks indicate its performance is on average with the desktop GeForce GTX 650 Ti.

System Suggestions
We recommend a Powerful Processor (Intel Core i7 Mobile) and 8GB of RAM for a system with GeForce GTX 765M.

To all you gamers out there…I OC this GPU from stock 900mhz core and 2000 mhz memory to 1035 core and 3000 memory…so +135/1000 increse.
Battlefiled 4 same level and settings results:
before: avg 40.196
after: 52.328

I'm hoping some of you guys can help me, I'm considering a laptop with this GPU and an I7 4700HQ for work in video editing, and I'd also like to be able to game in 1080P. I really have no care for the settings.
Do you guys thnk that this is "future proof" and will be able to run future games at a good FPS in 1080P? Thanks!

yes it is, you'll be able to run future games(2-3 years) at least medium settings at 1080p most definitely.

I don't understand why on this article it says the clock speed is at 797Mhz en in boost at 863Mhz because on my laptop it's at 901Mhz without overclock.? I use a msi GE60 2OE

Maybe it is factory-Overclocked by MSI, so if the cooling is fine, you are lucky :D

Hey all. I have a small trouble in deciding which graphic card is good for the laptop of the following specs.
RAM: 8gb
Processor: Core i5 4th gen
HDD: 1TB
Resolution: Equal to that of a 15" screen.
Will the geforce gtx 765M graphic card suffice for the above configurations

I'm using it with a I7-4th gen en it works perfect. And there is'nt a big difference between I5 and I7 of the 4th gen. So I think you choose a very good rig

There's a very big difference between an i5 or an i7 in notebooks, for the i7s (or yours at least) are quad cores.

I have a choice of this with i7-4700MQ and 8gb ram and HD8970 with A10-5750m and 4gb ram. Which one would be better? Also the one with amd cpu is a bit more expensive, for the same price i could get the first one with 12gb ram.

The second one with the AMD APU is under powered in it's processing abilites, and it would bottleneck the HD8970M quite a lot. The one with the Nvidia GTX765M is the better choice
