GeForce 9800 GT Review
GeForce 9800 GT is a high-end GFX based on the 65nm variant of the first-shader unified architecture.
It's based on the G92 Core and offers 112 Shader Processing Units, 56 TMUs and 16 ROPs, on a 256-bit memory interface of GDDR3. The central unit runs at 600MHz and the memory clock operates 900MHz. It will consume no more than 105 Watt.
It's therefore a renamed GeForce 8800 GT and will offer exactly the same performance.
Today's modern demanding games can be played at medium (most) or high settings (some) smoothly. However, DirectX 11 based games aren't supported and its performance will decrease substantially, as the resolution increases.

I have this card and I have to say, for a 4 year old card...its performance is awesome. Ive run games old and new on high setting and this thing barely flinches. Its a great card to pick up for $60 bucks if on a slim budget. It'll play any game out right now on settings that might surprise you. Give it a little overclock and it performs even better. Upgrading to a 650 Ti or such with Christmas cash though (itll go in my little bros starter rig)

Yea you are right! This card rocks for its age and price. It crushes all AMD/ATI graphic cards at $50-$60. Your little bro will be amazed! You should get a 550 TI and then get another one of these to SLI both of the 9800 GT's together and not have to buy him another graphics card for 5 years!

It depends upon the resolution that you're using it with. If you have a higher resolution (like 1920 x 1080), bigger memory (1GB) is show a little more improvement than the 512MB version. ;)
