GeForce GTX 760 Asus ROG Striker Platinum Edition Game Requirement Analysis

GeForce GTX 760 Asus ROG Striker Platinum Edition is a special edition of GeForce GTX 760.
This edition comes with a custom dual-fan cooling solution which by itself should allow a slight performance boost, as GeForce GTX 760 benefits from the GPU Boost 2.0 technology.
Also, it has been overclocked out of the box from 980MHz to 1085MHz while its boost clock is now of 1150MHz. The memory clock was left untouched.
Furthermore, the frame buffer was doubled to 4GB though this will not boost its performance and can be addressed as a gimmick - marketing to lure consumers into paying more for the same product.
Benchmarks indicate a 9% performance boost when compared to the reference card and so this edition performs better than GeForce GTX 670.

I would not say the double frame buffer is a gimmick, some next gen titles require more than 2gb of vram. Watch dogs needs 3gb+ of gpu vram to play on ultra. The consoles have unified memory unlike pc so I predict future games are going need more dedicated vram from the graphics card to play on ultra at 1080p

That's true, but this card is unable to use the extra VRAM. That's why they call it a gimmick.

This card can use the extra VRAM, it has used it all in next gen games and used 3GB on BF4. It certainly isn't a gimmick
