GeForce GT 740 v2 EVGA FTW 2GB Edition Game Requirement Analysis

GeForce GT 740 v2 EVGA FTW 2GB Edition is a special edition of the middle-class GeForce GT 740 v2.
This edition comes with a custom cooling solution which will not yield any performance boost, as GeForce GT 740 v2 does not benefit from the GPU Boost 2.0 technology.
Also, it has been overclocked out of the box from 993MHz to 1202MHz, while the memory clock was left untouched.
Furthermore, the frame buffer was doubled to 2GB though this will not boost its performance and can be addressed as a gimmick - marketing to lure consumers into paying more for the same product.
Benchmarks indicate an extreme performance boost of up to 14% making it almost 10% faster than a GeForce GTX 650.

Getting ready to order this gpu tomorrow, along with an i3-3220. It will be my very first pc gaming build :)
I don't expect to play any game out there on max settings, just something to play games with untill I get more cash.

Nice GPU (but very underrated). This will be the GPU of my new i3 backup build.

Buying the 2GB version is a waste, as the GT 740 won't use all 2GB.

Still, this is a great budget GPU for 720p gaming.
