GeForce GTX 960 2GB Game Requirement Analysis

Overview
GeForce GTX 960 2GB is a Performance Graphics Card based on the Second Revision of the Maxwell architecture.

Architecture
The Second variant of the Maxwell Architecture, despite being also manufactured with a 28nm technology, has an extremely large L2 Cache and features a Third Generation Delta Color Compression which allows NVIDIA to produce Graphics Cards with relatively small memory data transfer rates, without causing too much impact on the overall performance. Furthermore, the Shaders have been redesigned and are both more powerful and energy efficient.
The Second Revision of Maxwell also adds the VXGI (Voxel Global Illumination) Technology which makes scenes significantly more lifelike and believable as light interacts more realistically in the game environment and the MFAA Technology which provides the same effect as MSAA but at a much lower performance cost.

GPU
It equips a GPU Codenamed GM206-300-A1 which has 8 Stream Multiprocessors activated and thus offers 1024 Shader Processing Units, 64 TMUs and 32 ROPs. The Central Unit is initially clocked at 1127MHz and goes up to 1158MHz, in Turbo Mode.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 2GB frame buffer of fast GDDR5, through a 128-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is adequate. The Memory Clock Operates at 1753MHz.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 120W, it requires at least a 400W PSU with one available 6-pin connector.

Performance
At 1920x1080, the best suited resolution for GeForce GTX 960, benchmarks indicate its performance is a little over the older GeForce GTX 670.
Therefore, GeForce GTX 770 and even Radeon R9 280X are still faster, though less energy efficient.

System Suggestions
GeForce GTX 960 2GB is best suited for resolutions up to and including 1920x1080. We recommend a Strong Processor and 8GB of RAM for Optimal Performance.

why does GD say that 1050 TI is more powerful than this card?
while this card has better shader performance…
even when u compare a 4gb version of this card to 1050 Ti…

I question that too. The cards are very close especially when u compare the non-stock factory OC cards since maxwell overclocks better than pascal.

no real bottleneck. and yes the card will run older games very well at high settings. even newer ones will usually run at high settings, with some games needing medium.
go for it if u can get it at a good price.
wait -- u have a 768p monitor, u are good to go then, this shld run anything at that res.

Don´t buy this card, its Vram is just not enough for recent games, you and your CPU deserves something better, something like gtx 1060 6gb :P.

Get the 960 it's around 20% faster and costs only slightly more (atleast in my country). Or wait for the 1050 Ti which should even be faster than the 960.

Nope, sorry , but that CPU is holding you back, instead you should buy the 1050 ti when it comes out, but again is not a 1440p card, even the 1060 isnt if you want 60 fps ultra settings.

The 1080 is not comparable to the rx 480, but higly overclocked is perfect for 1080p 60 fps gaming as well as the 1060.i recommend getting a high end 6 gen i5 and a gtx 1060 or rx 480 and a 1080p 144 hz monitor.

You will be able to run many games on high, especially with your 4 GB model. However you may need to compromise on framerate, and will probably land around 30 FPS. Medium is a more optimistic value for higher framerates.

You mean a GTX 760 OEM? 3Go is good for this card but the GTX 960 is better than a stock GTX 760 which is a nenamed GTX 660. The GTX 960 is somewhere between a GTX 670 and a GTX 680 so if you can go for a 960 or wait for a 1060/RX 480

Please help,

Is my power supply strong enough to run this graphics card and what would be the performance of the graphics card on 1366x768 resolution? I do not plan to upgrade a new power supply or monitor. Thanks in advance.

What is your power supply? Any 400 and even 380 W PSU would enough for this if ithas a 6-pin connector. For that resolution, it will be enough to max most of games with 60 FPS ; )

Go for the EVGA FTW ACX 2.0, it is really quiet and the only 6+2 pin connector is enough for this GPU which is overclocked. I think this is the best for your PSU. You can also chose the Gainward Phantom GLH but it has a 2.5 slot cooler. ; )
