Cooling Solution
MSI’s Twin Frozr V Thermal Designs are equipped with Zero Frozr technology which was first introduced by MSI back in 2008. The sweet spot for my MSI R9 390 is 1100mhz on the core with a +25% power limit and no added voltage.

The main question, as always…will my CPU bottleneck this card? If so, what card would you recommend for an upgrade?

I am attempting to upgrade to this gpu, yet on my AsRock Fatal1ty 970 mobo, with an fx 8350 OC'd to 5.2ghz it gets seriously slowed down on games.

I got 75fps on CineBench with it, and my GTX 660ti got 107Fps
Any suggestions since most my specifications are listed in my rigs specifications

970, about 25% faster…the only thing his GPU has over the 970 is the 8GB of VRAM, but 4GB of Vram is more than enough for 1080p

25%????wow is this 980 ti?970 is 3-4 % better but only in pappers as all the reviews say..it has 8 vs 3,5 vram(future).i wanted 970 gigabyte g1 but the ram issue held me back(huge for me cause i dont want to spend too much money that in 1-2 years cause of the ram lower the settings to high)..i want 3 years at least ultra -tweaked high.Only ACU -GTA and SOM use 3.4-3.8 at 1080p now but in 1 year?

Currently, I think the 390 is better. Due to the higher support it has got for the DX12, supporting Async Compute, that causes Nvidia suffer performance drops.

depends on game optimisation in some cases r9 390 can be also better on 1080p but under higher res r390 will be better performing card…if price same i pick r9 390 over gtx 970 for sure
