I'm targeting this as my next upgrade at some indeterminate point in the future.
Is this a good investment? I'm looking for a good 4GB card since I want to try and future proof some of the more un-optimized games (ie Arkham Knight) and I like the look of this one. Not sure if the blower style is good or not.

So I have the Nvidia Shield tablet and I occasionally use the game stream feature, I would really like to go cheaper and get an AMD, but I don't wanna give up the game stream.

Yeah it's looking more and more like I'm gonna have to give up the game streaming at some point. Considering I can get an 8GB 390 for the same price.

don't forget that the r9 290/390(x) has the full 4gb vram, while the gtx 970 has 3.5 fast vram and 0.5gb (significantly) slower
