GeForce 210 Review

Overview
GeForce 210 is an Entry-Level Graphics Card based on the Second Revision of the Tesla Architecture.

Architecture
Tesla was NVIDIA's First Unified Shader Architecture.

GPU
It equips a GPU Codenamed GT218-300-B1 which has 2 Stream Multiprocessors activated and thus offers 16 Shader Processing Units, 8 TMUs and 4 ROPs. The Central Unit is clocked at 589MHz.

Memory
The GPU accesses a 512MB frame buffer of DDR2, through a 64-bit memory interface. The size of the frame buffer is adequate. The Memory Clock Operates at 500MHz.

Features
DirectX 10.1 Support (10.0 Hardware Default) and support for NVIDIA PureVideo HD Technology, Dual-stream Hardware Acceleration, PhysX, CUDA, HybridPower and other technologies.

Cooling Solution
The Cooling Solution consists of a Single-Fan.

Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 31W, it relies entirely on the PCI Slot for Power meaning no extra connectors are required.

Performance
Gaming benchmarks put its performance considerably below a Radeon HD 4550, meaning even the older GeForce 9400 GT is faster.

Works ok, but I recommend you get a little better graphics card. The card I have now (without OC), GT 610, works just fine with that CPU.

its a very weak card ; 512MB versions are also available which will perform similar to this one since this GPU does not benefit from a 1GB frame buffer.

well, i can tell your friend the bad news atleast… sorry im not much help and im really just stating the obvious. he needs to do pretty much a FULL upgrade.. the reason why is bcoz when he decides it is the right time to upgrade he will most likey have to upgrade pretty much all the components just so they can talk to eachother and are not bottle-necking eachother… thats what i did.. took me a while:D

There's no point to overclock such weak card,if he wants to play some games he will have to buy another, much stronger card

For everybody who thinks this is wrong: there are 2 versions of the 210: one is this one, the other one is 1 gb ddr3, which is obviously better. You can find the other one here: http://www.game-debate.com/hardware/index.php?gid=326&graphics=GeForce%20210%201GB
