Overview
GeForce GT 1030 2GB is a low-end 1000 series Nvidia graphics card based on the first revision of the Pascal architecture.
Architecture
The first variant of the Pascal architecture succeeds the Maxwell architecture. Manufactured with a 16nm technology, it has a large L2 Cache, which allows NVIDIA to produce graphics cards with relatively small memory data transfer rates, without causing too much impact on the overall performance. Furthermore, the Shaders have been redesigned and are both more powerful and energy efficient.
GPU
The GT 1030 equips a GPU codenamed GP108 and offers 384 Shader Processing Units, 32 TMUs and 16 ROPs, on a 64-bit memory interface. The central unit runs at 1252MHz and goes up to 1506MHz, in Turbo Mode, while the memory clock operates at 1250MHz.
Features
DirectX 12.0 Support (11.0 Hardware Default) and support for GameStream, G-SYNC, GPU Boost 2.0, GeForce Experience, PhysX and other technologies.
Power Consumption
With a rated board TDP of 30W, it requires at least a 300W PSU and relies entirely on the PCI Slot for power.
Release Price
The GeForce GT 1030 is a low end graphics card that focuses on games requiring minimum graphics performance. Consequently the GT 1030 will come with a budget price tag and will be available from as little as $79.99.
The performance of this card should be on par with the RX 550 and not 98% slower if you do a comparison of the two cards. Kindly update.
wow only 30 watts its drawing, so less power consumption
Why is this gpu so much under appreciated ?
this card have 48GB/s Memory Bandwidth and --->>NOT 32GB<<-

and the CLOCK is brand variable ZOTAC,EVGA,MSI,GALAX
ZOTAC CLOCK BASE 1227 MHz BOOST 1468 MHz
EVGA CLOCK BASE 1290 MHz BOOST 1544 MHz
MSI CLOCK BASE 1265 MHZ BOOST 1518 MHZ
GALAX CLOCK BASE 1252 MHZ BOOST 1506 MHZ
and memory clock is variable too more then 1000 MHz
default memory clock is 6008 mhz (1502 mhx effective due to 64 bit achitecture)
ha ha hitting 1923 mhz on core clock here with my gt 1030
How are you handling games? Do you think this is enough for 720p/900p gaming?
most 2017 AAA games running fine on my resolution at low to med setting at good fps.
Can this run Dark Souls 3 and AC Origins in 720p?
Yes but your current Gpu is more powerful than the GT 1030.
But it cant run DS3 even on low in 720p and i dont know why. It runs The Witcher 3 all on max with only Nvidia hairworks off at 30 fps on 720p but it cant even run DS3 on low properly :D
Can someone be kind and update the card so it matches the description text? Isn't the memory clock 1250 Mhz ?
my card is just 13 % faster than this baby :) but in reall gaming performance i dont think this card will come to GTX 560 even closer… older high end cards will still outperform this cuty
Will an i3-530 2.9 Ghz bottleneck this GPU?
Noup…
even my current GTX 560 ti bottlenecks i3 530… i need more ram and i need better gpu… these cpus are under rated… thay can run with GTX 660 and even GTX 670 if occed without any problems…
I upgraded my wife's computer from an i3-530, 2GB ram, Gt430 to a GT1030, but we can't see great improvements in performance, we're gonna try putting 4GB ram from another computer today and see how much the performance increases.
If yoy run on single channel then of course performance would be bad dual channel must be
Added 4 GB of ram, with that i3-530, an Asus 2gb GT 1030 DDR5 and 5GB of ram, she's now able to run games like Fallout 4. World of Warcraft Legion and Fortnite at around 35-55 FPS.
2 gigs of ram ? my calculator has more ram than your computer… try to put at least 8 gigs of ram dude… for todays demanding games 8 gigs of ram is the minimum to make games enjoyble… 4 gigs of ram is enough just for surfing internet

I'm thinking of getting this for use as an external gpu but will my laptop CPU bottleneck it and if how much?
